Nature has the most powerful anti-biotics, the most effective treatment for viruses, and has something to offer to provide relief and healing for 90 percent of all ailments. It also has the greatest influence on our health. Research is being done more and more to show that pure unadulterated oils from plants and trees not only are better for you, but much of the time are more effective. The complex molecular structure allows essential oils to be a natural medicine. In other words, it is because of the complexity that causes them to be so effective. Many oils can treat many different ailments and enhance a myriad of biological functions. So what happens when the chemical compounds are broken up or isolated? The answer should be simple. If you take part of the foundation out of a house, what will happen to the house. It will collapse. Or at least a part of it will. Either way, it will not be a a place that will keep you warm or out of the outside elements. The same thing happens when the Pharmaceutical companies take segments of the chemical make-up of the oils and isolate them. Once those elements are isolated, they are synthetically copied, patented and sold. Fortunately, you can’t patent mother nature. This is the very reason most medications, whether pre-scribed or over-the-counter, have side effects that are at one extreme irritating, and on the other extreme, can even cause death. Therefore it is imperative that the complex molecular structure is kept unadulteratedly pure. At least if you believe in the most efficient and effective way to use medications. Many times, a doctor will pre-scribe a medication and then pre-scribe another to combat the side effects. With essential oils, the parts of the oils that combat side effects are already build in. It is almost as though natural medicine was created to be congruent with our biology and physiology. For example, if you are to take something for allergies, such as Lavender, Lemon and Peppermint, you would have a more effective medication, but there would be no drowsiness, no dry mount and no sickness to your stomach. Additionally, essential oils are carbon based just as are bodies are. After seeing what Lemon does to a Styrofoam cup (it eats through it), and after using it to remove glue on my car windshield from a sticker, I thought maybe I could unclog my drain with it. I was certainly mistaken, it didn’t do any good at all. Why, because hair is made of of the same material as our bodies and the lemon will not eat through it. That, to me is amazing. “Mother nature” created a natural medicine that destroys that which doesn’t belong in our bodies, and protects and builds what does. Every time I have picked up a prescription at the pharmacy, they always give me at least one small print sheet of information, warnings and lists of side effects to watch out for. It always tells you if you have those side effects, you should go see your doctor. Natural medicine has nothing of the sort. The only warning it may have on it is, “beware, you may get more healthy by using this oil.” It is important that you get certified oils though. Essential oils are not anything new. They have been used for hundreds if not thousands of years. Natural medicines have existed for a long long time. As a matter of fact, they were so valuable anciently, that people killed for it and nations became wealthy because of it. So why don’t we use them now? Most would probably say because we have more technology and the medications are better. Half of that statement is correct. We do have more technology so now we can actually test the oils to make sure they have the chemical constituency the oil is supposed to have. One of the major reasons we fell away from the oils was because sometimes they would work and sometimes they wouldn’t. All of us have seen movies where someone was selling oils and claiming the oils had almost magic power to heal. In the movies they are always looked as as though they are “crazy quacks.” To a certain extend they were, but most likely they had a batch at some point that was extracted properly and worked. Most of us don’t like to take a medicine and not have it do anything for us. Therefore, if the medicine we take doesn’t work, we are most likely not going to use it again. After a while, the oils lost their reputation as a source of healing or treatment for sickness or disease. Many of the oriental countries have hung on to those traditional natural medicines, but even they have drifted away from them. Over the years, most essential oils were just used for fragrances and put in perfumes. Some use them for incense and read about what the oils used to be able to do, but most don’t have any medicinal value at all anymore. If you really have a concern about your health, essential oils should be the first route you should take for health and healing.
