Drive is a 2011 crime drama movie which features Ryan Gosling as the driver, Carey Mulligan as Irene, Bryan Cranston as Shannon, Oscar Isaac as Standard and Albert Brooks as Bernie Rose. It is a direction of Nicolas Winding Refn and produced by Michel Litvak, John Palermo, Marc Platt, Gigi Pritzker and Adam Siegel. It is merely a production of the novel of the same name by James Sallis. The film’s story revolves around an unnamed Driver who moonlights as a getaway driver. Before its release, it was screened in many festivals. This film received praise and standing ovation in the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. The film was nominated for the best director and eventually won it in Cannes Film Festival. This film has had positive reviews from the critics and performed really well on the screen earning around 77 million dollars whereas its budget was as low as 13 million dollars. In BAFTA (British Academy Film Awards) it was nominated for the best film and best direction and unfortunately could not win anything. The film is based on the driver’s life who works as a mechanic and a part time stunt man in the Hollywood industry. He is managed by the shop owner Shannon in both of his jobs while these two people also provide getaway service as well. In the getaway services organized by Shannon, The driver gives a strict five minutes window to get to the car or otherwise the car would be gone leaving them behind at the crime spot only to be apprehended by the law enforcement agencies. The Driver soon meets his new neighbor with whom he gets very close in a short time and befriends his only son. He makes her feel very comfortable but soon after his husband is released from the prison, everything change. And then, the start of very inciting part of the movie starts. With the entire story on one side, Ryan’s appearance in this movie is one of the main factors of keeping the crowd and especially girls on the seats.
