EMR or the Electronic Medical Record is one of the most important items that is used in the health care industry. It is a digital record that contains all of a patient's medical history at a particular health facility and is used for making important healthcare decisions as it contains details of all the diagnoses, examinations, and treatments that the person has ever received. This record can then be used to improve their health, regardless of where they are receiving health services and who the health care provider is. It gets updated at every visit to a health care provider and is therefore always current and up to date. It is especially important in emergency cases where decisions have to be made quickly in order to save lives. The Electronic Medical Record has thus become one of the single most important records that has been developed about an individual and goes a long way in ensuring that the person is always able to receive the type and kind of health care that they require throughout their life and wherever they may be.
