VILLUPURAM, India – A police investigation launched after a teenager told Indian TVthat her father committed a triple homicide led to the discovery ofthree human skeletons, The Times of India reported. The 16-year-old, named as M. Bhargavi, made the accusation during areality crime program, claiming that her father, A. Murugan, hadpoisoned a man, his daughter and her lover back in 2008. On Tuesday, three sets of human remains were dug up from thefamily's village in Villupuram district, which is located in thestate of Tamil in southern India. Murugan -- missing since the show's recording -- and the girl'smother, Rajeswari, are currently being questioned by police, TheAsian Age reported Wednesday. Bhargavi, who appeared on the show after eloping with herboyfriend, told the program her mother advised her of the murdersand warned her not to return home to her father. TV host, Nirmala Periyasamy, told The Times of India, "The girl wasconstantly telling us that she was afraid of her father, as he maymurder her and her husband. When I repeatedly questioned her, thegirl broke down and told us that her father had murdered threepersons in their house in 2008." After the show was broadcast, a woman told authorities how herhusband Sakar, daughter Lavanya and the daughter's loverSilambrasan went missing back in 2008, and she feared they weremurdered. Authorities are working on the assumption that Murugan gave allthree food laced with poison in order to rob them.
