Then, there is the heating and air conditioning factor. Assuming that the hotel is modern, they should have A/C in every room, but you may not have access to it. Some places like to control the A/C themselves to save money, but if you are particular about your own temperature, it would be wise to make sure you can actually change the heat or cold air yourself. You may also want to look for particular amenities; for instance, free breakfast and a workout area may make your stay worthwhile. These things can relieve the stress of having to find restaurants and gyms around town.
