Getting a retail store customer ready is the combinations of several processes that will not only make the store look great but will also ensure easy operations. Also it is pertinent that this gets done on a daily basis. Store recovery as it is termed in the present day is done on an everyday basis both during the opening of a store and the closing of the same. Most retailers find this easy to do when the doors are locked on the customers –before opening it for the day and after closing the store after the end of the day.

There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to store recovery, but a few tips can help in getting the store ready in no time. The following tips will help in ensuring a speedy and efficient store recovery process: Perfection On The Sales Floor Items in the selling area needs to be straightened out on top priority as it not only provides a neat look for the customer but offers a full appearance and can help in deterring theft. Keeping the store full will ensure that the shop lifters are slowed down and hence there will be considerable reduction in thefts and the store looks full and nice. Back stocks and over stocks can be used to fill up the empty spaces. To maintain a full appearance all products can be brought to the front edge of the shelf, or if it’s a peg board, all products can be moved forward in the hook. All mis-shelved items can be collected in a shopping basket or a cart and can be returned to its original location in no time. This way, employees will not be diverted from their regular flow of job.

Check Out the Check-Out Area The last impression of the store is always at the check-out point, where most often than not the actual point of sale happens. This area for financial transactions must be maintained properly – needs to be neat and orderly. It is important to vacuum and sweep this area frequently to ensure that this is neat and tidy. Any surface that the customer comes in contact with must be cleaned with a fixed time schedule – register stands, railings, glass cases, doors, etc. All merchandise that is kept near the check-out counter must be replenished quickly and those products that are rejected or not billed must be returned to its place in the store at the earliest possible to avoid clutter. Bag areas need to be refilled quickly to ensure that the customers are not left waiting.

Taking Stock of the Stock Room More often than not, the stock room gets neglected in the routine of things as the sales floor and the counters take the upper hand in recovery. With all products being stored here, a clean and well organized stock room will ensure quick deposit and recovery and will also help in keeping track of the stock availability on hand. The emergency exits must always be free of clutter. All store supplies need to be kept together in an organized fashion at one particular place. All empty boxes and trash cans need to be cleared as a routine. Getting things organized is the key here and having the right fixtures will help in achieving this at ease.
