How do I Repair Bad LED Light in Instrument Cluster? If you have a bad LED light bulb in your instrument cluster, you may miss out on information you will need when behind the wheel. If you locate a bulb on the cluster that isn't working correctly, you should replace it before you next take your vehicle out on the road. These replacement LED bulbs are available at your local auto parts store. Instructions 1 Open the hood of your vehicle. Use a wrench to carefully loosen the clamp bolts on the negative and positive terminals. Remove the battery cables from their respective terminals. 2 Enter the driver's seat and locate the tab behind the steering wheel, which allows you to change the height of the wheel. Move the steering wheel to its lowest possible position within the steering column. 3.Find the rubber bezel around the edges of the instrument panel. Use a Phillips screwdriver to remove the two screws that fix it in place. Lift the bezel out from around the dash. 4 Remove the three mounting screws that fix the instrument cluster to the dash. Slide the cluster halfway out of the dash. Reach around behind the cluster and unhook the electrical connector. Place the cluster on a clear work surface. 5 Unscrew the damaged bulbs in a counterclockwise direction until they come free from the panel. Replace them with new bulbs by inserting the bulb in the same position and turning it in the opposite direction. Reattach the bezel and instrument cluster. Reattach the battery cables to their respective terminals and turn on the engine to check that the new bulbs work on the cluster.
