No matter how good a writer or marketer you are, sooner or later you will run out of things to blog about. It happens to everyone so don’t panic and don’t throw in the towel. Use these tips to get yourself back on track again.
#1 : Step away from that computer!
Sure you can get ideas from surfing the web, but take some time off and clear your mind. You will be surprised how ideas will come to you. Think about the mistakes you’ve made in the past and write about it for instance, other people will be happy to learn from your mistakes. Write honestly about your mistakes and give as much detail as possible and explain how you overcame the problem.
#2: Look at what’s in front of you.
Spy on your competition. I’m not saying you must copy their work, but use them as inspiration. See which of their articles get a lot of comments and shares and modify and improve on them. Take your competition’s URL, type it into the home page at Quicksprout and hit the “Social Media” tab. You will find all the information you need on that page.
#3: Surf the web systematically.
Buzzsumo is a search engine that helps you come up with ideas to blog about. Type in a phrase and Buzzsumo will give you a list of all the blogs with this phrase in it and their popularity. You can now spin these phrases for your new articles. Don’t use recent phrases, use ones that are about three months old. This site will give you enough ideas to last you years.
#4 Outline before you write.
You will need more information for your blog , so outline your idea in the old trusted, title, intro, body and conclusion format. Now you just add to each of these until you have a well structured outline. From here it will be much easier to write a fantastic piece.

#5 Ask and Engage.
Ask a question at the end of your article and encourage people to leave comments. You will find loads of ideas for your next blog by just reading these comments. People will often share the problems they have in the comments section, it is your job to find a solution. Alternatively, just ask your readers what they would like you to blog about, it can be that easy to come up with ideas.
You will literally never run out of ideas if you follow these steps. The more you use them the better you will get at it and the faster you will come up with ideas. Blogging isn’t rocket science, you just need to get a formula that works and a schedule you stick to religiously. Do this and the results will follow!
