Putting a negative label on the child, however, is only going to reinforce the unwanted behavior. Instead of criticizing the child, criticize the behavior. Well-behaved kids are kids who are well-rested. With your young kids, regular naps are essential in addition to the nightly sleep. Make sure you enforce a reasonable bedtime for your child, and don't allow him or her to stay up too late watching TV or going online. Keep an eye on your children's diet because the foods and drinks they consume can affect their sleep. Rest is very crucial to your child's well-being, as it's been found that a lot of learning and behavior issues in children stem from lack of rest and sleep.
