It will always be fun in sports activities to try to look at the future and see just who our next superstars are who are arising. We actually have not had a dominant person within the sport of golf since the glory years of Tiger Woods, although it's looking now that we may have witnessed within 2014 an heir apparent. And what would be a significantly better treat would be a rivalry between a couple of players which are better than the remaining. That rivalry could be shaping up between Rory McElroy and, surprise! Rickey Fowler. Obviously the name of McElroy is no surprise after the dominant 2014. The 2 major championships triumphs gives him a sum of 4 majors, plus he has been designated PGA player of the year for 2 of the previous 3 years. Moreover he was able to do something that has eluded Tiger Woods throughout his career: have a dominating overall performance within the Ryder Cup. No one doubts that McElroy will probably be among the very best players long into the future. Rickie Fowler however might still be a little reach. He's still to be triumphant in a major and has just one single win on the PGA Tour, that being in 2012. Even he states he's a number of steps behind McElroy at this junction. But although he has not been able to break through inside the victory column he has demonstrated the game that could push him to the top. In 2014 Fowler was able to finish within the top five in all four major tourneys. Only Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus, which each achieved it twice, were able to boast this sort of consistent year in the major tournaments. No less an authority than Rory McElroy himself states that Fowler is probably the most likely candidate for being Rory's main adversary. Though both are the same age, 25 years of age, McElroy turned pro two years prior to Fowler. Both consider the other a friend and have the highest esteem for their respective games. Regardless of the fact that traditional rivals needn't meet on the same venue in golf just as much as they do with tennis, rivalries without doubt contribute to the intrigue for golf, as with all sport. But still we've not had a high-quality rivalry since Woods and Phil Mickelson. But for us which have been around the game for a while we look back at Nicklaus-Palmer, Nicklaus-Watson as well as Faldo-Norman, and it is one more thing that adds spice to golf competition. Generating club head speed, and as a result distance starts in the back swing. Read more on the four aspects of a good golf swing, broken down into their individual components.
