If you’re going to be printing your photos on canvas and your unsure of how to get them printed and what sort of photo to use then this article will guide you through the steps to ensure you get the correct size canvas print and the quality you are looking for. Scanning a photo: You can use any photographic hard copy of any kind. You simply find yourself a scanner and a computer and scan your photo to your computer at the highest dpi possible. You should use the highest dpi so that the quality of your photo is at its highest, that way you will get the best possible details and canvas print results. If you don’t have a scanner then you can either ask a friend to use their scanner or you can post your photo to a canvas printing business for them to scan your photo for you. Camera Digital image: Many of us have cameras that we are proud of and some of us have a simple camera model. Even the simplest of cameras can produce quality images. If your camera is capable of producing a photo over 1mb in file size then this is good enough for you to be able to get a quality canvas print from. Simply go to your computer, insert your USB cable into your camera and your computer and then there you have it. Your image is on your computer for you to either order your canvas prints via email or you can go to a canvas printing specialist website and use their website upload facility to order your canvas print via there order process. It’s as easy as that. Phone digital image: Just like the camera digital image you can use your photos from your phone to get some great looking canvas photo prints. If you have a USB cable with your phone then simply insert the cable into your phone and then transfer your photos to your computer and then you can order the same way, either by email or online. Digital Artwork: This works similar to the digital camera image, if you have a painting then you can scan this into your computer or if you don’t have a scanner that is big enough for your painting then you could lay flat your painting on the floor and then get a chair and stand above it with a digital camera and then take some birds eye photos of your painting. Once you have taken some shots make sure to get one that is straight. This will come in handy later on, then once you have a few photos simply put them on your computer and open up a programme like photos shop and play around with the artwork image until you are happy with it. If you have a straight enough photo then you won’t have to crop it much. Once you have the artwork properly edited like by playing with the cropping, colours and lighting then you’re ready to forward this to the canvas printers for them to print your artwork on to canvas for you. If you don’t have photoshop then you can forward your photo as it is and ask the canvas printers to edit it for you before they print to canvas. Some might charge for this service but a lot offer this free of charge. Lastly is images online. Most images online are already sized down to a certain size. You shouldn’t really use any images that are online anyway but the main reason to not use them is because if they are to small then you will get a blurry looking print out on your canvas print once its blown up. It’s always best to try and find your original image to get a perfectly good looking print. And the main reason why they are small online to start with is just for the load time. If the image is to big the load time will be to long so this is why it’s good practise to make the photo small enough so no load time is interrupting anyone.
