Languages play an important role in communication and if you are planning to pursue a career in any of the 25 countries where Arabic is spoken then you will definitely need to learn the language. Learning Arabic is not something that can happen overnight but it is definitely not the toughest language out there. If you put your time and effort then you will be able to master this ancient language in the shortest possible time.

Arabic as a language is spoken is in several countries across the world including those situated in regions like the Middle East, Horn of Africa, and North Africa. It is the national language of 27 states and is known to belong to the Afro-Asiatic language family. According to a 2010 report, there are in excess of 290 million native speakers of this language. How old is Arabic language? Well! Arabic inscriptions dating back to AD 512-568 have been discovered and this makes it one of the oldest languages of the world. Hence learning Arabic is definitely going to help businesses and individuals wanting to work or operate from the Middle East or parts of Africa.

How is Learning Arabic Beneficial?

The question that most people would ask is who all can learn Arabic? Anyone and everyone can learn this language but learning Arabic is particularly useful for the following people:

• Learning this language will be useful for people planning to pursue their career in any of the countries where it is the national language like United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Somalia, Palestine, Mauritania, Bahrain, Lebanon, Djibouti, Chad, Egypt, Comoros, Tunisia, Jordan, Iraq, Eritrea, Israel, Kuwait, Libya, Oman, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Syria, Yemen, Sudan, and Western Sahara.

Learning Arabic is useful for businesses that want to open offices or operate from any of these countries as this will help them to reach out to the local population or audience with much more ease.

• It is recommended for children whose upbringing has been in other countries. For example: if the parents are from Israel or Morocco and the child has been brought up in the USA or the UK then learning Arabic will help the child to understand their cultural background in a better way.

• Since Arabic is one of the official languages of the United Nations, it can be learnt to pursue jobs as official interpreters, and also used by literary people for giving presentations in the language.

• In some countries like the USA there are financial incentives for learning Arabic as the US government has designated the language to be of extreme strategic importance.

• This language opens the door to learning more about the strong cultural and historical heritage associated with the language especially for historians and anthropologists.

• One of the salient aspects of the Arabic language is that it has influenced several other languages like Turkish, Persian, Urdu, Pashto, Kurdish, Sindhi, Bosnian, Swahili, Somali, Kazakh, Indonesian, Malay, Punjabi, Tigrinya, Hausa, and Tagalog. The language has also influenced the vocabulary of languages like Catalan, Spanish, Sicilian, and Portuguese. Hence, learning Arabic can help people to understand any of these languages better.

The bottom line is that there are several important benefits of learning Arabic and it is an easy language to master.
