There are a large variety of pocket knives to choose from on the market, which poses a simple question – which do you choose? If you are searching for a reliable pocket knife that can fit various needs, and succeed in these situations, then you should probably search for a knife with more quality than the ones at your local hardware store. Some brands that you should keep your mind open too while searching that will be discussed are: Gerber, CRKT, Smith & Wesson, Leatherman, Victorinox, and Wenger. First off, Gerber who makes many different pocket knives, and also survival gear of different sorts. Gerber is a company based in Oregon, and is generally known for high quality blades. This is probably the most straight forward quality pocket knife company you get. They make knives with durable blades and comfortable grips. Typically Gerber doesn’t have any crazy designs or incredibly innovation models like some other companies, but make a straight-up quality knife. CRKT, on the other hand make a very different knife compared to Gerber. Although CRKT does have some standard knives, they generally make very unique knives. For example, one of their models includes a feature to automatically sharpen upon closing. Another has a nesting double blade design, which gives you the option of a larger or smaller blade depending on your situation. As previously states CRKT does have some standard knife models, but most are pretty radical compared to other companies’ designs. Next up, is the company Smith & Wesson (S&W), which is generally known for firearms. However, they make a pretty high quality pocket knife as well. The knives they make, similar to Gerber, are fairly standard. Many of the knives that they produce are much longer than your average pocket knife, which is generally around four inches (blade). This can be useful if you are looking for a knife to take hiking or for general work. Leatherman is a company that is usually associated with multi-tools, and some even know multi-tools as “Leatherman’s”. They too however also make a great knife. Some of their model are shorter than the average length in the blade, but are wider. Leatherman pocket knives are a great option if you are in search of a simple carry on pocket knife for general use. They also offer key-chain knives, which can also be very useful for car keys. Another great pocket knife for carrying is Victorinox. Some people may know them as the original creator of the Swiss Army knife. If you don’t know about Swiss Army knives they include many different tools on them. Some of which include can openers, scissors, files, and many more tools. Victorinox produce very useful tools that cover the widest range a pocket tool can. However, at the cost of this the knives of the Victorinox Swiss Army knives are not as elaborate and high quality as other brands, but they also make standard knives that have great blades. Finally, Wenger, the last brand to be showcased. There are many people who know them as the genuine creator of the Swiss Army Knife. They sell similar products to Victorinox, but have a wider variety of standard knives and other products. They sell the very standard Swiss Army Knife, that although is an old design, has been improved with modern grips and materials. Wenger offers a very general tool that can allow convenience in many situations. As you have probably noticed there are many brands of high quality pocket knives. There are also many brands that have not been showcased here. These however, are some of the best brands in the industry that can offer pretty much anything you could need.
