I started with playing poker on the internet to get a hang of it; just to get to know how to play, learn a few tricks and understanding patterns by simply being an observer. Taking it to the next level of course meant visiting casinos to play Poker, which I did and thoroughly enjoyed the staged performances, stand-up comedians, as well as playing the game and making money. Interestingly enough, I also found that the people at the table were challenging, tough things were being said, there were all kind of big hot shot, like sports personalities, the business world big wigs, and they talk to you, they say terrible things to each other, they joke and they try to get you off your balance. I learned that it doesn’t matter what they say, it’s never personal, which is very cliché but it’s true. And you get kind of immune to it, after a while. The biggest thing that happened to me was that I learned to transform this negative or these remarks into positive thinking and which helped me stand firm on my grounds. I made to the final table a lot of times, didn’t always win though. You now must be wondering, if I did not win all the times, how can I shoot an email to you claiming that I know how to win each time you play poker? Well, I didn’t always win money, but there are other things of value to me which I always won. Now, it would require a completely different point of view to understand what I am trying to say here. It’s not always the green light in your eyes that matters, it’s not always about how much CASH you come back with. It is totally and completely up to the individual, to be able to see or not see, what you came back with. Oh, yes, you always come back with something or the other, sometimes more valuable than a few dollar bills. Let me tell you what I have won, irrespective of winning or losing the money at the final table in a Poker game. I have won several experiences, so many of them, that it helped me some way or the other to take better decisions in my business. Real complex decisions do not seem so complex now. I have won and achieved the power to take risks, to know which one is a calculated risk and which is a blind one. I have won the power to control my emotions. I have won over the fear of rejection. After all, you cannot be rejected more in any walk of life or in any business or job, then being rejected by the fate of a better hand on your opponent. No game has been discovered out of nothing, and every game has all the relevance to our lives; all it takes is a seeker to find out the hidden truths and the unseen elements of even the simple game of Poker. I wish you all the very best. Roshi https://mrrosshowmethemoney.wordpress.com/
