Downtown landlord sells shares in two landmark properties Lou Frangos, once one of downtown’s biggest property owners, has sold his 50-percent shares in the Realty Tower Apartments, the Stambaugh Building and the latter structure’s adjacent parking lot and deck. Frangos declined today to discuss the financial details of the sale, finalized late Friday. Also the Frangos Group/USA Parking Systems, Frangos’ two business subsidiaries, is giving its partners, Wick Ohio One LLC, primarily owned by Pan Brothers Associates LLC of New York City, until September to buy his company’s 50-percent ownership of three other downtown buildings — the First National Tower, the Harshman Building and the former St. Vincent De Paul Building. If Wick Ohio One doesn’t purchase those three properties by September, Frangos said either the two companies would remain partners or he’d look to buy Wick’s share. The two companies also own the Wick Building, which will be sold shortly to Dominic Marchionda, who plans to turn the building into an apartment complex. Frangos is keeping three downtown buildings, which his company owns outright. They are the Plaza Parking Deck and Building, the Chase Building and a vacant building at 213 W. Boardman St., which also includes a parking lot.
