The rally driving experience can be distinguished from a regular racing course by the type of track being driven on, which can vary from gravel to tarmac to mud, to ice or anything else the imagination can conjure up! On a normal racetrack, such as formula one, a large number of high powered cars race around the circuit until one person completes the correct amount of laps. The rally driving experience is different. You do not have to drive around on the same type of surface, which makes for a very interesting experience day on the rally circuit. Rally driving cars are typically less powerful than a stock car. Rally cars actually have huge amounts of torque due to their turbocharged engines which have to be scrutinised at every rally event. They have to have the torque so they can powerslide or drift around icy or slippery surfaces and have the power to get out of the corner. As part of the rally experience, you take the car you have chosen and try to go, quite simply, from start to finish. Of course, the rally day may be a little bit harder than that. You may have to run through certain checkpoints in order to complete the race. Before your first rally driving experience, it is important to make sure that you are certain of the capabilities of your car and your reactions. Even street legal rally cars can be surprisingly powerful especially with the turbo which can spool up very quickly and accelerate extremely fast. You do not want your first driving experience to be rolling your rally car into a ditch because you do not have control over the car. This is not going to happen on a driving day, the rally experience is extremely exhilarating to say the least. Just in case anybody gets the wrong idea, rally driving is a different experience than street racing. Rally racing is done on rally circuits, and is completely legal. Your rally driving experience should not make you end up in the back of a police car. The rally car experience is an adrenaline filled rush. When you get behind the wheel of the rally car and begin driving a rally car, it is a thrill that can hardly be matched. Rally driving is done on a wide variety of surfaces. Those who are new to the rally driving experience may want to start out on asphalt, where the car will be easier to control, however experienced drivers can find rallies on ice, sand, dirt, or even in the middle of the woods. The rally driving experience is something which can be enjoyed by anyone who has the know how or money to tune up a street legal car and wants to get behind the wheel and make someone eat their dust.
