Four Las Vegas automobile accidents happened Friday night into Saturday morning that resulted in the death of three people and the death of an unborn child. Las Vegas automobile accidents happen for all kinds of reasons, including driver error, and both pedestrians and motorists violating traffic laws. Around 4 a.m. on Saturday June 27th, a truck on Interstate 215 going west, near Aliante Pkwy, was out of control and crossed into the lane heading east. The pickup then crashed into a motorcycle. Both vehicles in the Las Vegas automobile accident exploded. After the accident, the driver of the motorcycle was killed and the driver and passenger of the pickup truck sustained injuries that are not expected to take their lives. The passenger in the pickup truck was a woman and the driver was a man. Police are investigating the pickup truck driver for driving while intoxicated. Later that evening, at approximately 11:40 p.m. a bicyclist was struck by a Hyundai Accent from 2008. The man on the bicycle, Las Vegas resident Jeffrey Gonzales, 33, died from the accident. The Las Vegas automobile accident was the 50th automobile death in 2014. The driver of the Hyundai, Abraham Lebron, 40, was cited for driving while intoxicated and fleeing the scene of an accident. Mr. Lebron is currently in detention in the Clark County jail. The Las Vegas automobile accident happened on Sahara near Mohawk St. Earlier that evening, around 10 p.m., Nancy Ojeda, 37, was hit when she was attempting to cross Circus Circus Dr. near Las Vegas Blvd. A Ford Focus ran into Ms. Ojeda, who was wearing dark clothes and was not in a crosswalk at the time of the crash. Ms. Ojeda was rushed to University Hospital with serious injuries. The baby she was carrying was delivered three months premature and died due to the accident. The driver of the Ford Focus remained at the accident scene and is assisting the police investigation. The driver passed tests for inebriation. Finally, another Las Vegas automobile accident, at around 9:45 p.m., happened. This was a single car crash where a driver slammed into a pole holding up traffic lights at the intersection of Maryland Pkwy and Saint Rose. The man driving was trying to turn off St Rose onto Maryland Pkwy and the accident happened when he couldn’t make the turn. Damage to the man’s truck and the pole were deemed significant in the Las Vegas automobile accident.
