Artificial grass is taking the UK by storm as more people choose to have it installed at home and in other outdoor areas as it comes with the promise of low maintenance and no hassle. However, whilst it may seem like it can be left there is a need for basic care which requires a small amount of equipment which can help keep it in pristine condition. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on tools or chemicals and in most cases the equipment can be found in the home. So what basic equipment do you need to ensure that your artificial grass remains looking good? Firstly, a lawn rake will work wonders and is one of the first pieces of equipment you should turn to. Over a period of time your garden will gather a large amount of debris and this is where the rake will come in handy. Remember that the type of rake you should use is a plastic one as one with steel bristles could cause damage to the lawn and the blades. Look to keep the lawn clean by the raking it around once a month but this obviously depends on the season. You may feel that the rake does not leave your lawn looking as good as you wish and that the blades do not sit upright. If this is the case simple brush will help to make the lawn look natural once again. Believe it or not, white vinegar is something that you will find very useful in the garden especially where pets leave their mess. You will of course look to clear their mess as quickly as possible but you will want the area as clean as you can get it. Keep an eye out for those areas where your pets urinate frequently and then pour white vinegar on the area. Give it a small amount of time, usually a couple of minutes, to soak in before washing away with water. Finally, whilst it may seem a silly idea to need a hose because artificial grass does not need watering, it does need the occasional hosing down to ensure that it keeps it clean. This will help to remove all kinds of dirt, grime and debris that works its way into the artificial blades whilst also helping to keep the grass looking fresh and clean. Ideally, giving it a quick hose down every week helps to keep it looking good. Artificial grass does require an element of care and this does require the use of basic equipment. The equipment mentioned above is the minimum you would require. There is of course the possibility of using other equipment should you wish to purchase it but on the whole, to keep your lawn looking pristine, using this equipment to give it a small amount of maintenance will ensure that your lawn looks good throughout the year.
