JEWISH-MUSLIM RELATIONS; LESSON FROM HISTORY

Blogs,Current Affairs,Education
The Charter of Medina or of Yathrib (?a?ifat al-Madinah; Mithaq al-Madinah), also known as the Constitution of Medina or of Yathrib (Dastur al-Madinah), was drafted by the Mohammad SWS shortly after his arrival at Medina (then known as Yathrib) in 622 CE [reference bellow] (or 1 AH), following the Hijra from Mecca. The preamble declares the document to be "a book [kitab] of the prophet Muhammad SWS to operate between the believers [mu'minin] and Muslims from the Quraysh tribe and from Yathrib and those who may be under them and wage war in their company" declaring them to constitute "one nation [ummah wa?idah] separate from all peoples". Please refer to the 700 years of Muslim rule of Spain, and identify Muslim-Jewish hostility in the past 1350 years prior to 1947? Then, tell me why Jewish community flourished under Muslim rule? Why Christian & Jewish communities are referred as the people of the books in the Holy Quran? Historically, in 637 Arabs besieged and captured the city from the Byzantine Empire, which had defeated the Persian forces and their allies, and conquered the city. It was the time of Umar RA, which reopened the locks of Synagogues for Jewish rituals in Jerusalem, which was put by the Byzantine Empire. Why was that?

Reference: http://popchassid.com/10-photos-muslim-jewish-unity/ Watt. Muhammad SWS at Medina. Pp. 227-228 Watt argues that the initial agreement was shortly after the hijra and the document was amended at a later date specifically after the battle of Badr (AH [anno hijra] 2, = AD 624). Serjeant argues that the charter is in fact 8 different treaties which can be dated according to events as they transpired in Medina with the first treaty being written shortly after Muhammad's arrival. R. B. Serjeant. " ADDITIONALLY: There are verses of the Holy Quran that specifically deals with peacetime situations, and then there are verses that specifically relate to war times. "Yeh tumhare nahin hosakte" relates to wartime. However, the social structure of Islam in everyday life which beholds a different concept. A Muslim man, who could be the head of the state, can marry a Jewish or Christian girl. And that head of the state can go to a war with a state opposed to Muslims while having a spouse from amongst the Ahle Kitab. Had there been no social structure, other than hostility with Ahle Kitab, and then most of the Middle East was demographically what it is today. The verses of the Holy Quran on “Ahle Kitab” have a particular reference to Ahle Kitab. It is a mere indoctrination that the verse of Holy Quran, "Yeh tumhare nahin hosakte" is used to form an argument on the social fabric of a Muslim society, given the ruling of the Holy Quran of having a wife of Jewish and Christian faiths. This has generated uncalled for, numerous questions on the social structure of Islam. However, the verses from amongst the “Yagog Magog” (Arabic Yajooj Majooj) are totally not discussed in the Islamic world. In that case they are wrongly portrayed as the tested friends, whereby tests were never accounted for. The social fabric of Islam promoted brotherhood amongst the followers of the book, and is the very reason behind the Jewish Muslim relationship that was never obliterated in the 700 years of Muslim rule of Eastern Europe, and the 1350 years of the Islamic history except a period of post Israel in recent memory. The verses of the Holy Quran are the verses of Quran. There are no difference in verses or its meaning, however, if the Tafseer is taken as a reference, then the Tafseer on "yeh tumhare nahin hosakte" has to be taken in reference to the context. Furthermore it is not wartime; it is all about the social structure of Islam. “IKHLAQ-E-HUSNA” is the foundation of the social fabric of Muslim societies.

Had there been a different social fabric of Muslim societies, the demographics of the Middle East would have been different than what it is today.

THE SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF ISLAM: 1. Muslim men can take Jewish or Christian spouses even they altered their books. 2. Muslim head of the state can have a Christian or Jewish first lady, and share state affairs even in war times. 3. "Today, I have permitted for you all good things, and the food of the People of the Book is permissible for you, and your food is permissible for them." (Al-Ma’idah: 5) Source: Eating Non-halal Meat in the UK In fact, in times of adversity, when you have no other option, it is even permitted for you to consume food that would otherwise be considered haram. "He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah. But whoever is forced [by necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." (Al-Baqarah 2:173) Any meat that is slaughtered according to Torah & Quran by taking Allah's name is permissible to eat, though not encouraged in both communities. 4. The Muslim rulers of Europe had Jewish Advisors in the cabinet. Were they lesser Muslims? 5. When the Muslim rulers were expelled from Eastern Europe, the Jewish community was expelled as well 6. And the Jewish community of the Muslim Europe settled in predominantly Muslim lands of Turkey and Morocco. I am not generating an unwanted debate; however whatever I have submitted is Islam. Islam has been deliberately complicated; though it follows the laws of nature, and the Lord of the universe who is not a party to any religious following designs the nature. Let us just stay with the "SOCIAL STRUCTURE OF ISLAM" which fully endorses my views. We are not into a religious debate at all. Such a debate is an endless process of arguments. I fully agree on a strong Muslim, Jewish ad Christian relationship in consonance to Islamic social structure. CONCLUSION:

“If it had been your Lord’s will, all of the people on Earth would have believed. Would you then compel the people so to have them believe?” (Quran 10:99)
