London Fashion Week has been viewed as a global fashion extravaganza that sets stage for some exceptional designers, who make a difference with their compelling work. Straight from the ramp and into your wardrobe – we recommend: Having dressed the likes of Rihanna and Paloma Faith, Samuel Dougal’s debut collection exhibits sleek and modern high impact silhouettes; and his eponymous womenswear label has earned him critical acclaim and mass adoration. A creatively liberated designer to watch out for, Samuel stands apart for his incredible versatility and extraordinary craftsmanship. Alice Archer is the discovery of Simon Burstein of Browns and her collection exhibits her unique talent that amalgamates print and embroidery in unique colour and texture combinations. Alice has the uncanny ability to translate oil paintings that inspire her into extraordinary embroidery, exploring elaborate floral detailing on unique luxurious fabrics. Another one not following the conventional footprint is Faustine Steinmetz with a strong bent towards craftsmanship. Faustine’s pieces are intricate and her work is indeed a must have! The next designer, who you should save place for is Yakshi Malhotra. Adept in knitwear, a girly casual yet fashionable line of knitwear – from dress to tops to skirts - will give you and your wardrobe a dainty feminine look. And finally, Zoe Jordan inspires a head-on out-with-the-old and in-with-the-bold look! Her style file is bound to give you a modish look with a hint of a tom-boy stroke. Her collection will add the much-needed city girl look to your wardrobe with just the right dash of roughness. Overall, the recommended look is high on silhouette, luxury in fabric and cut, drape and style – defining body type and emphasizing the unadorned innate beauty!
