Cheap flights to Portugal will be the perfect choice for the journey to one of the warmest European countries to explore the ancient architectural works, beautiful natural scenery and experience abundant cuisine. Portugal, officially Portuguese Republic is located in the southwest of Europe on Iberian Peninsula. It is the westernmost country of mainland Europe. Minho region is a fertile land with the extremely rich and varied vegetation. On the hills along big valleys, people grow mostly grapes as ingredients for processing the grape wine, Porto wine and vinho verde wine famous around the world. The east of Portugal is mainly mountainous region; the climate is hot in summer and quite cold in winter. Therefore, the flora is less than Minho region. The surrounding mountains both regions have many rivers running through like Minho River that borders with the Kingdom of Spain or Douro River. The north of this country is the natural reserve located in famous Peneda-Gerês National Park. Some natural and primitive forests still remain here. Tourist attractions in Portugal Portugal has many things to explore in a long journey. The first destination visitors should visit once setting foot in the country is the charming capital of Lisbon. Lisbon bears the ancient and charming beauty with the magnificent castles, beautiful houses, romantic streets, and ancient ornate palaces... The city is known for stunning architectural works and typical ancient architectural works under the Gothic style, the traditional architecture of Portugal, Arab and ancient Roman. If visitors prefer to relax and and take a break on the beautiful beaches and enjoy the sunshine, they should come to Algarve City with the beautiful towns like in fairy tales. Perhaps, this will be a must-see place in their journey. Coming here, visitors can enjoy the famous specialties, contemplate the beautiful olive forests, the tiny villages painted white, relax in the windswept coast or explore the extremely impressive cliffs. Lisbon and Porto have the modern and convenient metro system. Unlike other European countries, traffic jam also often occurs in Portugal's big cities. - Portugal climate is quite warm. Also, it is one of the warmest countries in Europe. During spring and fall is the period attracting visitors most. If visitors travel to Portugal in winter, the weather in this season is temperate, not too cold but rain will occur. However, traveling in this season, the service price is quite cheap and more promotion. In summer, the weather is usually quite hot but the resorts are crowded and the price is high. Especially in June every year, famous St. Anthony festival in Lisbon is held appealing numerous visitors. - Traditional cuisine of Portugal is very diverse and abundant. Each locality in Portugal often has different specialties cooked from meat, fish or seafood. The Portuguese traditional dish is Atlantic Ocean's gadoid prepared with many different ways. Remember that in big cities, visitors need to bring their passport to change cash or travel checks. - Portugal's big cities have many ATMs (Multibanco) located in big shopping centers and supermarkets.
