Scania’s V8 Engine Range Scania’s range of groundbreaking V8 engines can be characterised by their outstanding uptime and exceptional reliability. Three different types of V8 engines are available, each in a range of configurations. - The Euro 6-compliant diesel engines can run 100% HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and some can also use 100% biodiesel. Euro 6 V8 engines are available in 520 hp, 580 hp or a massive 730 hp.
- Scania EEV (Enhanced Environmentally-Friendly Vehicle) engines are for those haulage companies who want Scania’s outstanding power, reliability and quality but also want the very best emissions compliance. Models are available in either 500 hp or 730 hp.
- The Euro 5-compliant diesel engines can run 100% HVO (Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil) and some can also use 100% biodiesel. Euro 6 V8 engines are available in 500 hp, 560 hp, 620 hp or a massive 730 hp.
