With its first salon open at Canary Wharf Station in London, ADAM, the grooming atelier brand sets a benchmark for spaces that pamper men! Fashioned out of a hexagonal layout that is simply but eclectically enveloped in a series of horizontal wooden slats, the brand lives up to its moniker of exclusivity in indulging its male clientele. Designed by Eray/Carbajo, an international architecture and design studio based in New York and Turkey, and known to solve design problems with innovative and value-adding solutions, the design provides exclusivity and undivided attention to the guests while they are being served. The idea sustained is to step into a contemporary, uncluttered space and let yourself go to the artful ministrations of the barbers; only to walk away feeling rejuvenated and looking sharp and polished. And to facilitate this feel-good, timeless materials like Marmara marble and natural chestnut inspired by Turkish baths create an elegant yet relaxing environment. The all-umber, all-wood look reflects masculinity, whilst the grey flooring ribbon that continues to the wall to host the brand’s logo augments spatiality; juxtaposing the horizontal with vertical lines. Branding and graphics also created by Eray/ Carbajo aims to represent all men - from ancient "Adam" to the modern day guy - in its visuals. The designers do well to put in a bespoke style statement in enhancing the brand value; in what could otherwise have been just another barber shop! check out the images on indiaartndesign.com
