5 Ways to Make Your TV Last Longer

Electronics,Science & Technology
Like other things, TVs also fades with age, but there are a few things that can be done to increase the lifespan of the Television sets. As per the manufacturers, generally, the lifespan of LED TVs varies between 4 to 10 years or between 40,000 to 100,000 hours on the basis of maintenance and usage. Apart from that, there are some other factors, which play a significant role like the brand, type, environment, and location.

TVs of the reputable brands like Samsung usually last long because of the best quality hardware components used. But, sometimes, even with the less popular brands, it can be assumed that the life expectancy would be several years longer than the warranty provided. So, here are the things that you can do to make your TV last longer:

Switch off the TV while no one is watching:

This is actually a prevalent thing to do, but often people forget to turn off the TV even while they don’t watch. And in that time, the TV keeps on conducting electricity through lights, and this thing wastes the performance hours of the TV. So, by switching off the TV while none is watching, it is possible to increase its longevity. Apart from that, it is also a good step to save electricity.

Adjust contrast:

Contrast is basically the control on the TV, which differentiates the darkest and brightest colors. But at the same time, higher the contrast, the greater electricity the TV uses. This thing, in turn, reduces the longevity of the TV. In most of the cases, the LED TVs like Samsung LED TV 65-inch sets are either too vivid or dynamic contrast. Both these settings work perfectly in the well-lit rooms as well as both show off the TV’s power, but these settings are not ideal for homes. In fact, these can even burn through the LED lights. Therefore, the settings should be adjusted to “movie” or “standard” for using lowest power and less energy.

Adjust brightness:

Unless your room is not properly lit where the TV is placed, there is no requirement of turning the TV to the high brightness level. Keep in mind that the hours to decide the lifespan of TV are based on the average settings. So, running the TV at high brightness levels will decrease this lifespan. Therefore, once you buy the LED TV 65 inch, don’t forget to adjust the brightness.

Opt for proper ventilation:

LED TVs use a lot of power, and therefore these produce loads of heat. So, to get rid of the heat from your room, opt for the proper ventilation system. Often people install LED TVs in places where there is no room to breathe. This heats up the TV sets, and therefore the internal parts of the TV start getting affected. So, while installing the LED TV, make sure that it has minimum 4 inches of space to breathe around the vents.

Opt for a voltage regulator:

LED TV is not the only electronics in your house that consume power, and while the power dips because of other electronics, it has an effect on the process of the TV. In some cases, this even causes the LED TVs to fail early. So, to keep your TV safe from the power dips, install a voltage regulator with battery backup, which will offer additional power during the dips.

Given that television is an integral part of our lives and they don’t come cheap, so make sure that you handle your LED TV 65 inch carefully and follow the above tips to make it last longer.
