Hockessin, DE – The Well Coffeehouse and Marketplace, a Delaware-based restaurant putting all profits towards local and global missions to help children and families in need, was granted the “Best Ribs, Best Salads and Best Family Spot in Delaware" designation by Delaware Today, a publication geared towards being the “lifestyle authority” in the First State. Delaware Today’s “2017 Best of Delaware” section represents the state’s top restaurants, shops, destinations and more, with such categories as Food & Drink: Upstate, Food & Drink: Downstate, Retailers, Services & Activities: Upstate, Retailers, Services & Activities: Downstate and Party Info. |
Offering coffee, tea and specialty drinks in addition to home-baked goods, breakfast, sandwiches, gourmet prepared foods, specialty items and a full deli, The Well has become renowned in its Hockessin neighborhood for all these items and more, including fabulously smoked barbecue.
“The Well Coffeehouse and Marketplace exists to provide a family-friendly environment, awesome community events, great coffee and food,” says Robert Kossak, associate pastor at Trinity Community Church and co-manager of The Well. “What’s more, all profit goes to charity, reflecting our motto that says, ‘Eat In, Hang Out, Take Home…It’s Always Well at The Well!’
“Indeed, patrons will discover more than just a great cup of coffee or excellently-prepared meal at The Well; they will discover a place where people are the priority – both in and out of the cabin. Whether folks are stopping by to pick up a delicious hoagie or sticky bun, or to relax in our comfy chairs to enjoy a pulled pork sandwich and ice cream, we want all families to see this place as a definite home away from home.”
From The Well’s authentic smoker comes its famed barbecue ribs – recognized by Delaware Today – and which are presented as a pork baby back rack bathed in “Big D” pork rub and seasoned for five hours over fruit wood, topped with The Well’s house-made signature sweet sauce. Likewise, the restaurant’s coveted salads include selections like The Well (with grape tomatoes, baby spinach, crispy bacon, asparagus, crumbled blue cheese, pecans, hard-boiled egg and balsamic dressing), Classic Caesar (with parmesan cheese, romaine hearts, house-made croutons and classic Caesar dressing), The Valley (with carrots, spring mix, blue cheese, grape tomatoes, pecans and balsamic dressing) and The Garden (with carrots, spring mix, feta cheese, grape tomatoes, dried cranberries, almonds and balsamic dressing).
“It is our goal to provide our community with a place where people find quality service to go along with premium products,” adds Kossak. “Further, we give all profits to local and global missions that help children, families and people in need; as such, by allowing us to serve the community, it is helping us serve others…and that’s a great thing.”
