Subclass 573 is the higher education sector visa which is the main route into Australia for all international students who wish to study in Australia. In order to apply for subclass 573 visa, first, a student must have confirmed a place in one of the universities in Australia which lead to bachelor’s degree, associate degree, graduate diploma, master’s degree, and higher education diploma. In order to be eligible for subclass 573 visa a student must give proof of acceptance to a higher education course at Australia university, student must have enough money to pay travel, tuition and, maintenance costs, student must meet health requirements including health insurance, meet English language skill and lastly student must satisfy Australian officials that will not overstay the visa. To apply for any student visa, a student under the age of eighteen years, have a parent or guardian sign their visa, must have a copy of Australian form 1229 and have a statutory declaration stating the reason why a student has to travel to Australia. With subclass 573 visa, a student can study and live in Australia as long as a student is enrolled in a course registered on the Commonwealth register of institutions and courses for overseas students. The student must keep up satisfactory in the course attendance as required by the education provider. Dependent family member and a partner can join a student to study in Australia for up to three months. Some of the higher education student visas are issued with no further stay conditions. Provided a student commences the course of study in Australia, a student can work up to twenty hours while in the course and unlimited hours during the scheduled breaks. Student family member or a partner can work up to twenty hours per week provided the student has commenced the course.
