I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Here we are on the eve of Christmas and trying to shed pounds. What to do when faced with the Christmas ham or turkey and all the fixings that go along with those holiday meals? It pays to keep in mind a couple of things. First, weight loss is not linear. If you look at weight loss over time sometimes you are loosing and sometimes you gain some weight. So long as the trendline is a straight line down everything is okay. Second, you don't have to pile your plate up so high that you are actually falling off the wagon. Today is the day you are working on healthy weight loss. It may be that you overeat a bit, but it doesn't have mean you lose all control. Given these two thoughts, remember that you are in control of what goes into your mouth. There is no need to overdo just because you are in a celebratory mood. Stay away from the dessert table and anything with refined sugar as an ingredient and you'll be just fine. All that said here's wishing you a wonderful Christmas holiday and all the joy of the season. ------------------------- Sara Dawson is the managing partner at The Science of Permanent Weight Loss.
