It's that time of year when this resort truly comes to life. With January now a distant memory, there are still blue skies and plenty of snow so it's time to take advantage of the ever-lengthening days by hitting the slopes this February. If you're visiting Courchevel, there's an array of events and goings-on around the resort, perfect for everyone from children and young families, to couples and groups of friends. Here's the low-down on everything going on this month. Events There's never a shortage of events when you're on a Courchevel ski break, and this February it's no different. The Snow and Fire Show festivities begin on 12 February in the village, and carry on in Courchevel Moriond on the 20th, before ending on 27 February. With firework displays and DJs kicking off the evenings, guests can indulge in cake with a glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate while watching the incredible show and torchlit parade put on by the resort and local ski school. Perfect for big groups of friends and families, there's the International Festival of Pyrotechnic Art on 15 February, where music meets fireworks for one night only. With the best pyrotechnicians from the world in attendance, you'll be blown away by the magical alchemy of music and fireworks against the glorious mountainous backdrop. It'll certainly be a night to remember. If you're on your Courchevel ski break with your loved one, the Verdons By Night XXL event on Valentine's Day is a must. Kicking off the night in a true romantic winter style, you can roast marshmallows and have a dance at the Family Park along with the DJs. If you truly love your fireworks, there's even more at the top of Verdons, and free access on the slope from 5.30pm until 10.30pm. Entertainment If that wasn't enough, there's a host of regular entertainment running throughout the season including Brazilian Dance courses, Belly Dance parties, magic shows, to private movie screenings, Mardi Gras festivities and hockey games. There's something for everyone, whether you’re looking to party, play hard on the slopes or just relax and unwind. Exhibitions After a long day on the slopes, you might want something a bit more chilled from your break. For those who like a bit of culture on your active holiday, there's no shortage of exhibitions. If you're interested in the Valley of Saint Bon, there's a free exhibition on its development featuring historical documents, objects and photographs. There are also free exhibitions dedicated to ice sports (everything from hockey to ice-skating) and the local tradition of ski-jumping. If that wasn't enough to keep you interested, there's the more-interactive 'Ski Lifts Epic' exhibition, all about the history of the equipment used on the slopes. Access to the cable car is also free during open hours.
