Photo Opportunities by Your Student Accommodation: London's Most Instagrammable Spots

Education
You already know that friends and family back home will be asking for photos of your new home once you’ve moved into your student accommodation. London is full of iconic sites and beautiful street corners, making it the perfect location to snap some pictures that will refresh your Instagram feed and show everyone what fun you’re having.

From iconic structures like the London Eye to the architectural design of the art galleries to the unforgettable skyline, this city is perfect for students who are always looking for the best shot. You’ll find a perfect opportunity around almost every corner, but here are just a few of the must-visit photo spots to make your international study experience last forever.

Tower Bridge

Found on most postcards, this historic structure is the perfect place to announce your arrival to the capital. Located in the centre of the city, it’s easy to combine a trip to Tower Bridge with a visit to other memorable buildings and tourist hotspots. If you’re feeling especially dedicated, get up for sunrise when the sunlight is rising between the mighty towers and there are fewer people around.

The London Eye

Instantly recognisable, you cannot leave the capital without a classic photo of this incredible structure. The emblematic wheel turning slowly on the side of the Thames is a must-see for any visitor. Rising above everything, you’ll get a fantastic shot of all the iconic attractions in one frame!

Tate Modern

Not far from most student accommodation, London’s most popular modern art gallery should be near the top of your bucket-list whether you’re new to the city or not. This repurposed power station is an imposing building that has been transformed inside to a chic, modern centre for creativity. There are also lots of events happening in and around the gallery making it a great spot for a spontaneous photoshoot.

The Shard

This modern skyscraper towers above the whole of the city like a giant glass needle. It’s a fantastic building to shoot from the base: stand at the structure’s foundations and look up for a unique perspective. If it’s the best view of the capital you’re after, simply head to the very top of The Shard and look out from its Sky Garden for a breath-taking panorama.

Millennium Bridge

Similar to Tower Bridge, this suspension crossing is best seen early in the day when there are fewer pedestrians and the light is just right. Linking the heart of London with attractions like the Globe Theatre and the colourful Southbank, it’s a popular crossing for tourists and locals alike. The pathway itself makes a beautiful line for the eye that leads it the magnificent St. Paul’s Cathedral at the other end, just peeking through buildings either side -- photo fanatics will love it!

All located in the heart of the city, you’ll find these top five instagrammable spots are close to most student accommodation. London is full of picture-perfect areas though and no matter where you explore, you’ll likely find a great photo opportunity. So have your camera at the ready and get snapping!
