Even though modern science has transformed health and well-being, Mother Nature has provided her own natural remedies that can give us vitality and well-being. With the constant demand of our time and energy, it can be difficult completing a day without feeling exhausted. However, there are natural herbs that can provide boost of energy to help get through the day. These supplements are perfect adjuncts to a well-balanced diet.

It is best to start with natural oils. Omega-3 fatty acids are necessary for a balanced diet that can give you a healthy heart and blood vessels. Unfortunately, due to a fear of mercury contaminants or unpopular taste, fish is inadequately consumed in American diets. To supplement this food products are Omega-3 oil pills. These pills can give a person the necessary nutrients without the taste or contaminants.

Vitamins are another critical component to a healthy diet. B-vitamins provide several necessary nutrients that can allow the body to regulate itself better. First, pantothenic acid (B5) can lead to a reduction of stress, which drops your body's demand for glucose, making you more energetic. It also enhances the body's immune system, which will help your body defeat infections that can lead to sickness and fatigue.

Another B-vitamin, pyridoxine (B6), is important for the breakdown and production of amino acids in the body. This breakdown and production of essential building blocks allows your body to be more balanced, thus reducing fatigue.

Finally, cyanocobalamin (B12) is an important supplement. It helps with the production of blood cells, which carries oxygen. This helps to supply your body with the need component to produce energy (sugar + oxygen). B12 will also help absorb calcium, which is important to regulating your heart, allowing it to beat and function appropriately.

Sometimes, though, regular vitamins and minerals are not enough to give us the energy that we need or desire. Often times, we are looking for quick boosts of energy. For instance, caffeine provides your body with a much desired jolt of energy.

Soft drinks, energy drinks, coffees, and even teas are laced with caffeine. Researchers have found positive outcomes in athletes who use caffeine. Athletes can often perform better at a higher intensity with the use of this supplement. Also, caffeine has been shown to enhance intellectual abilities.

However, caffeine used on a regular basis can have adverse effects. It definitely is contraindicated in pregnant women, since it can lead to pre-term labor. The body can also get used to the levels of caffeine if used on a regular basis creating a new baseline and demanding larger and larger amounts of the supplement to produce the same results.

Another naturally occurring stimulant is ginseng. It is also an ideal stress reliever, but ginseng works to strengthen and normalize body functions, which leads to more energy. Like caffeine it has shown to have positive results on intellectual cognitive abilities. It also enhances immunity, like the vitamins above, leading to more energy and a healthier, balanced, body.

These are just a few of the natural supplements that Mother Nature has prepared that are cultivated for supplement use. The best approach to having enough energy is eating a well-balanced diet, getting plenty of rest, and avoiding illness. However, when your body calls for it, supplements can enhance your body's natural ability to achieve similar results.
