The initial symptoms of glutathione deficiency include vomiting, diarrhea, anemia, abdominal pain and so on. these symptoms are very similar to multiple sclerosis and vitamin B12 lack of symptoms. In glutathione deficiency occurs, a compound called 5 - oxygen (generation) proline can build up in the blood, urine and spinal cord in the liquid. Other symptoms include red blood cell and metabolic acidosis in hemolytic anemia. Moderate deficiency symptoms is similar with mild symptoms, but more serious. Serious glutathione deficiency involves psychomotor hysteresis and diseases of the nervous system, the characteristic is the body reaction, action and talking speed delay. Epilepsy, lose coordination and mental disorder will probably happen. In some serious cases also can happen rare bacterial infection symptoms. Main with proper dose of sodium citrate and citric acid mixture correct metabolic acidosis, and antioxidant vitamin E and C help in the treatment of glutathione deficiency. That depends on the time sooner or later, usually can use these methods to repair glutathione level. Alpha lipoic acid and n-acetyl cysteine also used to treat the deficiency. Mild or moderate patients often need to be live in the doctor’s supervision, and serious deficiency patients is not very optimistic.
