Guardian Editors of Vogue magazine worldwide have said they will not usemodels under the age of 16, or those they believe have an eatingdisorder. The magazine says it will ensure that fashion models are well caredfor and given advice to help them better look after theirwellbeing. Models under 16 have been banned from appearing in both the Londonand New York fashion weeks. Vogue editors have criticised designerswho supply very small clothes samples, which they believeencourages the use of too-skinny models. The magazine will also ask modelling agents not to knowingly sendthem underage girls, and request that casting directors checkmodels' ages when casting shoots, shows and campaigns. They also call for healthier backstage working conditions at showsand shoots, including providing models with healthy food optionsand respecting their privacy. Less than a third (29.1%) of those surveyed by the Model Alliancereported that they felt they could tell their agency if they wereexperiencing sexual harassment. More than two-thirds (68.3%) saidthey suffered from anxiety or depression. CNN High-wire walker Nik Wallenda has announced he will attempt to walka tightrope over Niagara Falls on June 15, the first person to doso in more than a century. Wallenda will walk a 2-inch cable attached to massive cranes oneach side of the falls, about 1,800 feet across, and 200 feet upfrom the bottom of the gorge. The crossing should take about 30 to 40 minutes and is planned totake place in early evening. Wallenda said he will be the first to cross directly over thewaterfall as the other people all crossed farther down. In September New York Gov. Huffington Post Daniel Chong, the 23-year-old UC San Diego student who spent nearlyfive days behind bars without food or water, wants $20 million fromthe Drug Enforcement Administration for the epic "accident." The Los Angeles Times reports that Chong -- who had to drink hisown urine to survive in his 5-foot-by-10-foot cell -- filedpaperwork on Wednesday because his treatment constitutes tortureunder United States and international law. Chong was detained on April 20 while he was at the house of allegedecstasy dealers. He wasn't charged with any crime -- though hislawyer told police he was at the house smoking marijuana -- but hewas forgotten and left in his holding cell. He was found more than four days later when an agent randomlyopened the door, the Associated Press reported. Chong toldreporters that the bewildered agent asked, "Where'd you come from?" The DEA apologized publicly for the flop, calling it an "accident." During his time inside the cell, Chong said he had drank his ownurine to stay hydrated, considered suicide, ate glass and broke hisown glasses to carve the words "Sorry Mom" into his arm. "I pretty much lost my mind," he said on Wednesday.
