KLM Airlines is the flag carrier of Netherlands and has its headquarters in Amstelveen, near its hub. The hub of the airline is at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol from where it operates passenger and cargo services to more than 90 destinations worldwide. Founded on the 7th October 1919, it is the oldest airline operating under its original name. It commenced its operations in 1920. At the back of each seat is a 10.4 inches TV screen and AVOD on the armrest. In the Europe Business Class, the seats are 17-inch wide with a pitch of 33 inches. They have more legroom and recline than the normal Economy Class. The in-flight entertainment system is available on all classes, and provides the passengers with Audio/Video on Demand. The airline provides a baggage allowance of 23 kg for the Economy Class travelers, whereas the Business Class passengers get an additional 3 check-in baggage, and silver, gold and platinum members are allowed to carry 1 item in addition. The cabin luggage is 12 kg for the Economy Class and 18 kg for Business Class. Passengers in the World Business Class are served a three-course meal on the flight. As for the European Business Class passengers, they are served cold meals, hot meals, or a three-course meal depending on the duration of the flight. The Economy Class passengers traveling in long-haul flights are served hot meals and a snack. The meals provided are prepared by experienced Dutch chefs. On short-haul flights, the customers are served snacks. The alcoholic beverages are mostly offered free of charge to the customers.
