Do We Fully Understand The Consequences Of Painkillers?

Health
This may help to understand some of the very adverse effects of painkillers we often reach out for to overcome that agony of constant unbearable pain. When pain persists take a pill. It's natural when you're looking for some sort of relief to stop interfering pain with your daily chores or pleasures in life. There are often not many other options other than to give in, or are there? As we know the human brain is a most powerful part of our body. We can block things out similar like flicking a switch if we have to or want to. Learning to understand the full impact of what damage painkillers can do may also help our mind to block the not so severe pains and to use other options.

Many do not consider the dangerous side effects!

Certain pains are harder to suppress and stronger painkillers are necessary, some of the most painful ones such as back pain. Inflammation as in arthritis is the more aggressive one, often with no end in sight. To stop inflammation as quickly as possible it is necessary to avoid the destructive effects of chronic inflammation. Long term use of any painkiller is better avoided, it can cause serious health problems or even risking your life. Do we really know what harm conventional painkillers can do? Over the counter and prescription-painkillers are often used extensively and inappropriately as well as there are many who are ignorant to the potential side effects they can have. It is frightening how commonly these drugs being used and the lack of knowledge of the potential dangers. To make this even worse: A big percentage of people do not consider themselves at risk from any side effects associated with the painkillers. At the same time many others suffer an epidemic of lethal overdose from prescription painkillers. Because the pain is gone don't think that all the problems are gone as well; it's far from being as simple as that.

Anti inflammatory painkillers are most used on arthritis. There are some people who have no troubles taking them. However, most others develop side effects which most of the time is serious.

There are too many to list them all!

The list of painkiller drugs is long and confusing. Some of the strong morphine-related more common ones are as many as over sixty of them, migraine triptans over a dozen, there are creams, gels and patches; these are some but not all of them. The most common ones used for arthritis are NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs). Cox-2 inhibitor drug is another one and was held of high expectations but the results were disappointing; as well as: Vioxx Rofecoxip had also been taken off the market due to increasing heart attacks. Many of the over the counter and prescription drugs used have been reduced from 1.000 MG to 650 MG because of the side effects such as irritation to the stomach lining, bleeding ulcers, decreased kidney function, fluid retention and increase of blood pressure.

Another one is Cortisone injections; they are often used as a solution for back pain, joint pain and limited mobility. Cortisone is not a solution; while it can bring short-term relief from pain this is only a temporary reprieve. Doctors seldom give more than one injection every six month because of the damage it will cause over long time. After several injections it also loses the effect against pain. Cortisone causes deterioration of cartilage, tissue, and bone. It leaves you vulnerable to infection and cancer because it is known to weaken and to depress the immune system in your body.

Look for better options for less inflammation and pain!

There are many natural inflammation and pain fighters well-documented for doing the job and leaving no side effects.

One of the best known inflammation and pain fighters is fish or krill oil by taking a high quality omega 3 or krill oil three times per day. For severe pain and inflammation you can increase your dose to 3,000 MG three times per day. The body on its own cannot make the omega 3 fatty acids; it is important having it included in your diet or taken as a supplement.

Omega 3 has many other healing powers for a variety of medical conditions including high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, osteoporosis etc. Make sure the supplements are of good quality. Omega 3 fats can become oxidized and rancid, and this can have dreadful consequences. There are many other options to replace painkiller drugs eliminating pain for good.

What you don't know not only can hurt you, it can take years of your life. There is more about food choices and pain, also about the best supplements with omega 3 fatty acids and glucosamine, all in one.
