System landscape Directory System landscape directory is your telephone directory. It contains all the system in your landscape because PI is connecting to those systems. System landscape directory is accessed by a browser so you can use internet explorer, fire fox and Google chrome. There are certain restrictions around which version of browser supports which version of PI but the end of the day the client frightened tool that you use to connect to the system landscape directory is a browser. Enterprise services Repository Enterprise services repository is your design time of PI that you design your interfaces and what are the tools that you use. SAP provides three different tools that you can use. Java based Client called integration builder. It is a java web based client, so in 90 percent of the hands in 90 percent of work that we do in this course. We would be using the integration builder which is the java web start client. Enterprise services repository is launched using a java web start based client as long as you have java installed on your missions. You will be able to launch the enterprise service repository. You can also use a browser based for just browsing through the enterprise service repository and you can also use SAP net weaver double upper based studio to connect to the enterprise service repository .The NWDS is a new feature that all the work you can do in the java web start is also supported in the net weaver double upper studio but for this course we would predominately be using integration builder or java web based client. Integration Directory Integration directory is typically accessed using java web start again java based client is nothing but java web start. The runtime components of PI: 1. Adopter engine 2: Integration engine 3: Business process engine It typically access using the SAP GUI and the runtime workbench basically a monitoring frame work is access using the browser so this could again like a imantions so any one of the browser that certain compatibility that you need to take care of but in principles most of the browsers are supported . Enterprise service repository contains various different types of objects you would create what we called data type what we called Message interface or service interfaces. There are different types of editors that are called Scenario Editor you would have a data type editor you would have a mapping editor all of these in the enterprise service repository because it is the design time of PI . You will be building individual objects that are going to comprise your interface so all of these objects is what would you be designing or building in your enterprise service repository using different types of editor’s .one another thing the enterprise service repository is dependent on the system landscape directory. System Landscape Directory It is the SLD which contains all the systems that are in your landscape. It is your telephone directory of your customer landscape so but a system perspective so the enterprise service repository reads what we called a software component version from the system landscape directory.
