Ghana tourism and it’s economy
The 1973-1983 period was economically disastrous for the country as a result of various factors. The major factors were:
- Corruption
- Drought
- Mismanagement
- Power swings
In 1983, the Economic Recovery Program was launched. Since then, the situation improved, but a problem remains its dependence on the export of cocoa, now about 35%. Another problem is that, unlike Ghana itself, neighboring countries like Ivory Coast, Liberia and Sierra Leone are unstable, allowing foreign investors to be terrified.
Nowadays a lot of tourists travel to Ghana. In 1993 the Ministry of Tourism was founded to improve the economy of Ghana. Since then Ghana tourism is making a contribution to the economy of the country. Ghana's economy is improving.
