A fierce gunbattle has erupted in the Libyan capital, Tripoli, between fighters loyal to Moammar Gadhafi and opposition forces trying to establish control in the city. Witnesses reported hearing a barrage of gunfire on Thursday outside of the Corinthia hotel, where many foreign journalists are staying. Libyan opposition fighters have been pouring into Tripoli to help combat the remnants of pro-Gadhafi resistance.  They are also advancing toward Gadhafi's hometown of Sirte. South Korean defense officials say North Korea is deploying massive numbers of troops and arms near the capital of Pyongyang. A NATO spokesman in Afghanistan says reports of hundreds of troops massing near the Pakistani border are totally inaccurate. Spokesman Mark Laity told VOA Afghan service Tuesday that coalition forces are not conducting any unusual activity near the border. Somalia's Islamic courts say Ethiopian troops are massing at the border and have entered the country, clashing with residents overnight.
