Street smarts for the Common People Survival Mind Set Last week I talked about the advantages of carrying a Cell phone Stun Gun such as our item # SM-Cell which is a powerful Stun Gun that looks like a cell phone. Of course we have other models that also do an excellent job, some of them look like flash lights, or pagers, some look like Stun Guns. Today I want to share with you a few of my thoughts about what I call the Survival Mindset. Now when I was a training office for the Lee County Sheriff?s Office, I always taught my trainees through actual or simulated situations. BUT... (read more)

3. Why do they call it a gun SHOW?
October 29, 2009

Why do they call it a GUN SHOW? This is my rant after "people watching" at a Gun & Knife Show. We had rented a table to display and sell our self defense products. We were the only vender selling Non Lethal self defense products. Now, don't get me wrong, I am a firm believer in the Right to Bear Arms and I hold a CCF license. But, as I have stated in past articles, sometimes it is just not always practical to wear a handgun. Well, the show was very crowded. There were personnel at the door checking all guns to make positive that NO guns were loaded and all boxes of ammo were seal... (read more)

4. Stun Guns And Pepper Spray Head To Head
October 19, 2009

Pepper spray and stun guns are two of the most well-liked non-lethal self protection devices. Both of these devices will instantly stop an attacker, giving you several minutes to get away, but they don't cause any major or lasing bodily harm. Both come in tiny enough sizes that they can be conveniently carried in your pocket. If you are thinking about buying one of these for self protection, you may not know which to get. Should you select a stun gun, or a can of mace pepper spray? Stun Guns are very forceful techniques of stopping an attacker, but because of the electric current runnin... (read more)

October 02, 2009

Up Close and personal with a Stun Gun or Pepper Spray This is all part of the survival mindset, way of thinking. To survive a personal attack, you must already have the Survival Mindset. Now this is not some hocus pocus way of thinking. It is a way of life. It is really no different than planning a route as you drive to work or shopping. I hope you don't just drive blindly thru a "bad" neighborhood without realizing you could already be in deep trouble. No of course not. If the bad neighborhood is between you and your destination, you plan a route around it. That is not living in fe... (read more)

Common sense defense After seeing about a half a dozen young women out jogging yesterday evening, I was anxious to get to my keyboard. This article is sort of aimed at women, but, MEN, you to need to be concerned and prepared! If not for yourself, the ones you love. I was out yesterday evening, with my wife, looking for a place to walk. I had read about a linear park in town that wound thru a "green" area just east of downtown. According to the map, it ran about 2 miles, starting just north of the High School and ran behind the school along side a creek, thru a wooded area, ending just south... (read more)

7. Tazer C2 Vs The History of the Stick - The Original Self Defense Product
September 15, 2009

Self Defense Products have been around and discussed for a particularly long time. Can't you just see the Neanderthals comparing clubs? I will just hear them saying, "My club is bigger than your club." It's like attempting to keep up with the Jones's. September 02, 2009

Self esteem is determined by how you habitually think about yourself and the events of your life. This habitual thinking pattern creates a self image that determines how you feel about yourself and it may be an image that is anywhere between being totally in line with the facts to being totally misaligned with the facts. Some peoples' self esteem is far higher than the facts warrant while others have self esteem that is far lower than the facts would suggest it should be. So what makes a healthy self esteem? A healthy self esteem is one that allows you to appreciate yourself and have... (read more)

April 16, 2007 changed the face of the security of our college campuses forever. The terrible tragedy at Virginia Tech redefined our views of student safety while they are on campus. It has also raised some questions. Could this have been prevented? Could crimes against students on campus be prevented? What steps can the administration of the universities take to ensure the safety of their students? Should students be allowed to be proactive and carry pepper spray, stun guns, air Tasers or Taser guns while on campus? August 26, 2009

Taser International recently released the latest consumer stun gun - the C2 Taser. This Taser gun was specifically designed to be used by the general public to protect themselves in case of an attack. It has nearly the same amount of stopping power found in police-issue Tasers, but it is lighter and friendlier to use. Unlike many personal stun guns on the market, the C2 is not shaped like a gun. It's more like an electric razor. Its unique shape means that attackers are less likely to realize that it is a threat, which makes it easily concealable.
