Memorable Quote 1: I government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take it all away - Barry Goldwater

Memorable Quote 2: it can be proven with facts and figures that Congress is the only native criminal class in America - Mark Twain

Author Comment / Biography:
My name is Bruno Korschek and I currently live in the Tampa Bay area of Florida. I have a BS in Mathematics from the University of Delaware and an MS in Statistics, also from Delaware. I spent over twenty two years in various business and market analysis jobs with a Fortune 100 company and for the past twelve years I have operated a successful family bussiness that I started in 1998. For over 35 years I have been fasciinated with the interplay between freedom and politics, concluding that they are inversely related: the more power politicians gain, the less liberty American have. This conclusoin and my other research led to the publication of my first book in late 2009, "Love My Country, Loathe My Governmnet - Fifty First Steps To Restoring Our Freedom and Destroying The American Political Class."

191. Economic Amateur Hour In Washington D.C.
August 26, 2010

A new round of bad economic news has been spewing forth this week, ranging from the poor housing market to the stagnant stock market to rising first time unemployment claims. After two years of very uneven and unpredictable economic performance, it makes you wonder whether it truly is economic amate...

192. Bad Laws Behaving Badly
August 25, 2010

One of the biggest government myths that Americans need to overcome before they can restore their freedom is that when politicians pass a law, then all is well in the world, the assumptions being that 1) the intended consequences of the law will actually materialize and 2) there will be unintended (...

193. A Report Card On This Generation's American Politicians
August 24, 2010

As the first decade of this century comes to a close, I thought it would be a good idea to look back over the past twenty years to see how this generation's politicians have managed the affairs of the Federal government and the country. Twenty years is a good measure since it a reasonable amount of ...

194. The United States' Leaders Vs. the World's Leaders - Who Wins This Smackdown?
August 16, 2010

It can get pretty depressing talking about the American political class. Problems such as the failed war on drugs, public schools that do not educate, lack of a national energy program, escalating health care costs, skyrocketing national debt, annually increasing budget deficits, higher and higher t...

195. Why TARP Was A Taxpayer Failure But A Political Class Success
August 10, 2010

Almost two years ago, the political class was in a tizzy, claiming that if the Congress and the President did not immediately pass the massive TARP program to bailout out the country's financial institutions, the entire world banking and economic system would collapse. And when they said immediately...

196. Why Chiina And India Will Soon Dominate The World - Will The American Political Class Do Anything A
August 10, 2010

If you look at some statistics from the U.S. Census organization, the CIA Fact Book, and several other credible sources and put them together in a "what-if" analysis regarding the future economic power of Russia, China, India, and the United States, you can develop the following statistical measures...

197. Mad, Sad, And Feeling Had By The American Political Class
August 10, 2010

Unfortunately, I have been thinking recently about the various political class topics and actions that have made me mad, sad, disappointed, or make me feel like we have all been had by our politicians. Their actions listed out below are seemingly unrelated except for the fact that if these situation...

198. The Federal Government As Jabba The Hutt - Too Big and Too Slow To Get Anything Right
August 03, 2010

It occurred to be recently while watching television that the U.S. Federal government is really nothing more than the political incarnation of Jabba The Hutt from the Star Wars movies. As you may recall, Jabba was a formless, slow moving, overweight entity that ruled with an iron fist while devourin...

199. Disgust And Disappointment With The American Political Class...And Free Hugs
July 28, 2010

I recently came across an April 19, 2010 Associated Press article that reported on a Pew Research Center opinion poll. The poll reported that about 80% of Americans say that they do not trust the Federal government and that they have little faith that the government can solve America's ills. My firs...

200. Down The Rabbit Hole And Into The Surreal World Of The American Political Class
July 19, 2010

If they were asked to take a hard and honest look at the problems facing this country in today's world, it is easy for most people to identify the five or six overriding issues that deeply affect the most Americans. I would bet that the following issues would make most people's top ten:

- Tw...
