World peace is an ideal of freedom, peace, and happiness among and within all nations and/or peoples. World peace is a Utopian idea of planetary non-violence by which nations willingly cooperate, either voluntarily or by virtue of a system of governance which prevents warfare. Although the term is sometimes used to refer to a cessation of all hostility among all individuals, world peace more commonly refers to a permanent end to global and regional wars with future conflicts resolved through nonviolent means. While world peace is theoretically possible, some[who?] believe that it is impossible to achieve.[1][2][3] The plausibility of world peace tacitly relies on the assumption of rational agents that base their decisions on future consequences, which is not self-evident.[citation needed] Bertrand Russell once expressed his skepticism regarding world peace After ages during which the earth produced harmless trilobites and butterflies, evolution progressed to the point at which it has generated Neros, Genghis Khans, and Hitlers. This, however, I believe is a passing nightmare; in time the earth will become again incapable of supporting life, and peace will return.

November 05, 2009
Modern Vietnam has many attractions, says Tim Jepson, but one event from its recent past still looms above all others.
Don't mention the war. This, more or less, is the gist of my Rough Guide to Vietnam. Or, more accurately – and I'm paraphrasing here – don't become obsessed by the war. But it's hard when visiting a country where the association, for me at least, is immediate and inescapable: Vietnam – war.
The closeness of the real world must have been the strangest thing, I think, as I sit reading the guide and looking down on miles of jungle during my flight from Bangkok to Ho Chi... (read more)

Seek Irony (from Israel) frontman, Kfir, and Blood Ink (from Lebanon) frontman, Rab, first met via My Space in early 2006. Over time, they shared music, a blossoming friendship, and a mutual frustration that they probably would never be able to meet in person and perform together.
