24. Spanish Bullfighter Gored to Death in Ring

A Spanish matador was gored to death in the ring Saturday at a corrida in the town of Teruel, in eastern Spain. The Red Cross said Victor Barrio, 29, was gored in the throat and abdomen and died later of his injuries. His death, which aired live on television, made him the first bullfighter to die in the ring since at least 2000, Reuters reported.
