1. Art and Culture Await in Bermuda's Historic Royal Naval Dockyard
May 22, 2018

Bermuda, the small British territory in the northwest of the Atlantic Ocean, is probably best known for its rum. Well, it’s probably best known for its namesake, the Bermuda Triangle, where ships and planes allegedly disappear in mysterious circumstances … But we’re not here to talk about that. The island has a lot more to offer than alcohol and intrigue. It’s steeped in history and has a flourishing cultural scene – and both are on show at the Royal Naval Dockyard, just a stone’s throw from some great Bermuda accommodation. March 29, 2018

Though for every gorgeous beach there is an equally beautiful beach hotel to stay in, not all of these gems are child friendly. Some hotels explicitly state they are adults-only to preserve an atmosphere of peace and calm for their guests. Thankfully for travel-loving families, there are plenty of accommodation options that are just perfect for children. Today I am singling out one beach hotel in Puglia, one in Gran Canaria and one in Bermuda which have impressed me by providing something special for those travelling with children. Whether it is because of their extra friendly staff or th... (read more)

January 22, 2018

Getaways to idyllic destinations are all very well, but even holidays to Bermuda, the Caribbean or the Mediterranean can seem a little empty when you’re not sharing it with your loved ones. In recent years, multigenerational holidays – holidays in which you take not just your children, but your parents as well – have ballooned in popularity. 10. See the Sights of Bermuda on its Beautiful Railway Trail
August 17, 2017

When someone first advised me to see more of Bermuda by taking the Railway Trail, I must admit my first thought was: why on earth would I need to take a train on an island which is only 24 miles long and one mile wide? What I soon discovered was that the Railway Trail hasn’t actually had a train on it since 1948 – when it was disbanded and turned into the flat cycle/hiking route it is today. Having cleared that up, I did, in fact, explore along the route’s 18 miles of coastal landscape, and discovered it was a wonderful way to see more of this breathtakingly beautiful island. N... Bermuda is such a compact and vibrant destination that you can experience a lot in a short space of time. While we'd all love to be able to spend a lazy couple of months relaxing on a sun-drenched beach, shopping up a storm or improving our golf handicap, the reality is that, most of the time, we don’t have the time or budget to do it. What that means is we have to be smarter with our leisure time – and I've had a lot of experience doing just that for my clients. Here's what a short city break in Bermuda could look like if you choose Hamilton City, the capital, as your base. What to ... (read more)
