Spruce up your Daily Green Tea!

Food & Beverages,Blogs,Advice

Green tea undoubtedly has multiple health benefits for someone who drinks it daily. However, not all green teas have a good taste. Few can be tannic and bitter and may leave an unpleasant taste in your mouth. At The Tea Trove, we provide different natural flavours of fruits, flowers, herbs, and spices that can be added to your tea to make it more interesting and tastier. Here are few of the flavours that will work best with any of the green teas available: Marigold: Marigold, also known as Calendula, is a yellow or orange coloured flower used as a colouring and flavouring agent for foods as rice, cereals and soups. However, the Calendula tea made from the petals of the Calendula flower has been brewed as a natural medicine for thousands of years. As with most of the herbal teas, the Calendula tea also has a number of health benefits like reducing inflammation, promoting wound healing, and as an antiseptic. Rose: Simply the fragrance of this light herbal tea is enough to calm a tired mind! Light and fragrant like a delicate perfume, the infusion is soothing, soft and refreshing. These intensely fragrant and beautiful rose petals release an almost euphoric aroma and flavour. It helps in building a strong immune system, strengthening the digestive system and in detoxification.

Lemon Peel: Lemon peel is the outer skin of the citrus fruit, lemon. Because the peel is where the essential oils of the fruit reside, it retains its robust flavour, even when dried. It provides a refreshing, lemony flavour to the tea blends.

Orange Peel: The orange peel is a perfect ingredient for a refreshing herbal blend. With undertones of grapefruit, the orange peel makes a rich, hearty, and tangy blend. It lends a deep aroma to your tea blend and adds a unique citrusy flavour.

Chamomile: Chamomile tea is known to be a natural stress reducer. However, that’s not the only thing it does. Its vast healing properties will surprise you! It cures sleeping problems, is an antidepressant, an anti-inflammatory, and also deals with menstrual cramps You can also use chamomile tea bags to topically treat tired eyes, dark circles around eyes and treat bee stings, acne and burns. This caffeine free herbal infusion is delicious served with honey.

Lemongrass: Lemongrass is a cooling, clear, and crisp herbal tea with a distinctive, spicy, lemony aroma. It has a zesty flavour reminiscent of lemon. Add it as a complementing flavour to your favourite tea blend, or drink it on its own. Either way, you can reap its medicinal properties and its various health benefits like stress reduction, better digestion, and to relieve fatigue. Peppermint: Our whole Peppermint leaf infusion is striking and strong, with a fantastically fresh and cleansing minty flavour. Great both as a hot and iced tea, peppermint helps soothe an upset stomach, and can also help clear out a cold. If you have dry or dull skin, drinking peppermint tea can help your skin to rid itself of dead skin cells and get you glowing.

Tulsi: Tulsi also known as Holy Basil, an ancient Ayurvedic herb, is one of roughly 60 species of the Basil family. A Tulsi tea has a crisp flavour with slightly peppery notes and a grassy clean finish. It contains antioxidants and strengthens the body against fatigue and stress. With anti-viral properties, Tulsi also helps reduce inflammation, stomach illness, and headaches. This tea is completely organic, all natural, and contains no GMOs.

Cinnamon: Cinnamon lends a delicious sweet flavour to any tea blend. It gives out a heady aroma that will instantly uplift our mood. Lower your cholesterol - and protect your heart health - with this cinnamon tea. It is filled with potent antioxidants, improves circulation, and reduces swelling and pains.

Ginger: Ginger provides a warm, comforting taste to your tea. Milk, sugar, and even honey, blend well with a cup of ginger tea. Rich in digestive enzymes that help the body process and digest food, it also quells inflammation and reduces joint pain. It also helps calm motion sickness.
