April 15, 2021

Why you need to know this: Every retail store has a distinctive and unique design that creates individual trademarks which entice customers into the store. Retail stores are designed to generate an easy and delightful shopping experience for customers. The most important element of retail store design is the psychology that underpins the design. The large windows enveloped with aesthetic designs, aisle widths and rack heights are carefully detailed to create a positive aura that will definitely lure customers into the store. 102. 2.6 millions followers and still failed to sell 36 pieces of merch
April 15, 2021

I heard from a little email birdie that there’s an Instagram influencer who tried to launch a merch line last year and failed miserably. Here’s the story: There’s a young woman who rose to social media fame with an Instagram following of over 2.6 million people. She started working with a company to help her create her own merch line. The deal was in order to continue working together, she needed to sell a minimum of 36 pieces, which she couldn’t achieve. According to what I dug up myself and what other people have said, there were two main reasons why it failed: 1. Th... (read more)

Accept you have a problem The senior team have to recognise that there’s a problem to be solved. Many ignore minor inconveniences hoping they go away. Most don’t. 104. Ad serving during the re-opening stage
April 15, 2021

We have all become used to life during the pandemic, going as far as calling it the new normal. There is still a way to go before life returns to the way it was prior to the arrival of COVID-19. In some places, businesses are in the early stages of re-opening, which means getting back to ad serving and trying to convince people to try them out. You are going to see a lot more advertisements during the re-opening stage, with some industries in particular being busier than others. Let’s take a look at what these industries are doing and how they are getting back to advertising as the world slowl... (read more)

105. It Pays to Use a Recruitment Agency to find a job
April 15, 2021

It is not uncommon for a large business to commonly use a recruitment agency to fill vacancies when they arise. But it is not just something large companies can do, any business can benefit from using IT recruitment agencies or whatever kind of agency they need. It is especially useful when the positions are temp but also great for mid-term and permanent placements too. The experts at a recruitment agency handle the advertising for the job, going through and vetting all the CVs they get when they do, organising tests and interviews and then negotiating with the successful job seekers or now em... 106. Advice for this noble, mission-driven client
April 14, 2021

I once helped a client with some web copy, specifically her site’s ‘About’ page, and she needed some advice. But before I get into that, here’s some background info: This particular client runs, in my opinion, a pretty noble mission-driven business. She provides travel planning services for people to visit the lesser known areas of a country rather than the mainstream tourist attractions. And she does it not just because she wants to give people great travel experiences, but to support the local foreign areas too. The way her ‘About’ page was written sounded like her b... (read more)

107. What are the challenges for IT recruitment?
April 14, 2021

As we’ve said in previous pieces, recruitment is not nearly as challenging as it once was, at least as far as logistics and research into individual applicants and candidates tends to go. The communication and information age, or the digital age as we generally refer to a, has made a lot of aspects of everyday life, as well as business, a lot easier. Even those of us old enough to plainly remember a time before these conveniences, tend to take all of this for granted now. We also take for granted the fact that we haven’t got the privacy and ability to out run silly mistakes in our youth, alas.... (read more)

108. Better Understanding Sublimation Printing
April 14, 2021

Sublimation printing is a process that uses heat to bring the ink onto the fabric. A design is first printed on special paper. The ink uses are special as they turn into a gas when they are heated and then combine with the material and prints permanently on it. It is not prone to issues of fading as the ink is embedded into the material not just layered on top of it. A similar process is a tattoo, the ink sinks into the pores of the fabric rather than skin though and it takes applied pressure for the ink to cool enough to return to its solid form. ‘All over printing’ This printing me... 111. Why you shouldn't give a flying fork about pleasing every single customer
April 12, 2021

There’s a lot to love about the British chef, Gordon Ramsay. He has incredible cooking knowledge and he’s very clever with his insults, not only to his student chefs, but to his customers too. At least the way he portrays it in the reality cooking competition show he hosts, Hell’s Kitchen, he just doesn’t give a flying fork when customers complain to him directly. I know that it’s all an act. He mentioned the way he interacts with his students is much less angry off camera. I’m sure that applies when he interacts with customers too, but he’s got the right idea. The motto, ... (read more)

114. How to "architect" good emails
April 09, 2021

I once watched a video about a person who talked about his experience studying architecture in his undergraduate program. After watching it, the main thing I learned was: “Form follows function.” It’s a quote that you’ll apparently hear quite commonly in the architectural space. It basically means the shape of the building should relate to its intended interior purpose. Or to look at it another way, when architects start designing their new building, it’s important that they think of the people first. Here’s what I mean. If you have a building that’s uniquely shaped, i... (read more)

115. Some lessons I learned from my journey to become a hobby-level music producer
April 08, 2021

One of my associates just finished revamping a platform she’s been building for the past two or three years. It was originally a platform for freelancers similar to Upwork and Fiverr, but that concept went in a completely different direction too. Ever since I was introduced to the platform, I’ve been regularly contributing blog posts, at least until the platform went under construction. But recently, it had its grand re-opening and I submitted my writing piece for the first time in over one year. This time, I wrote my piece on my music production journey, which included the... 116. Digital Marketing is always Evolving
April 08, 2021

Digital marketing is not something set in stone since the time of the early days of the internet. It has evolved and changed over the years, as search engines change their algorithms and rules, and as businesses change and how online platforms are used. When you are considering digital marketing in Wall, you should make sure you choose professionals who understand that what they once did for clients 20 years ago is quite different from what they might do today, and stay up to date with techniques and knowledge. A lot of businesses who understand that digital marketing is good for their busines... (read more)

117. Should I Go To A Pawn Shop For Cash?
April 08, 2021

Pawn shops have an unfair reputation, largely due to media and particularly salty people who just didn’t get the deal they wanted. People tend to have unfair expectations when dealing with businesses, especially where money exchanges like this are involved, and that will leave them in a better place where they tend to besmirch reputations of businesses as a result. So, you have to take such things with not a grain of salt, but in entire shaker of it. So, is it a good idea to go to a pawn shop in Freehold, or a pawn shop in Brick? When is it a good idea to choose this over something like a... (read more)

118. Why I Find Cold Emails Hot Now
April 07, 2021

I usually don’t talk about this, but I guess today is the exception. Somebody once asked me, “What makes an effective cold email?” Now, I’m no expert on cold emails. But when I wrote a cold email series for a client months back and saw some results, that made me want to start studying cold emails. So when I answered the question, I made two points. 1. It had to be attention-grabbing. 2. It had to be different. I didn’t say it at the time, but a third thing I should’ve mentioned was to make the email about the person you’re sending the email to. It’s obvious,... (read more)

119. What else can you use a residential construction company for?
April 07, 2021

Obviously, the most common reason a person might hire a construction company in LBI is to build a home. But there are other reasons you might need to look for one, such as extensions, modifications to a home, adding an exterior structure like a garage. Maybe you want a single-storey extension to get a bigger kitchen, or you need a tool shed outside. 121. Witnessing next level marketing
April 06, 2021

I recently witnessed one of the greatest song promotion campaigns ever. The artist starts off with a YouTube video titled, “Final song before I leave,” making people think he’s quitting the platform, but he later mentions that he’s leaving Earth. He ends the video by playing a demo of his newest space-themed single. Then his next few videos took place in what looks like a space station. Their viewers were confused if he actually went to space or not. People were discussing in the comments section whether his journey to space is real or not. They were looking up th... (read more)
