While I was traveling through Poland, I conceived the idea of visiting Auschwitz camps of work and extermination and Wieliczka Salt Mine. Two tours in one, I thought, is it possible? I didn’t have no time to set aside more than a couple of hours to see both places .That seemed to be a problem with transport and organization but it turned out to be easy to do. First of all we went to Auschwitz I, it is where Nazis killed the first mass transports of Jews, where they carried out the first illegal tests on prisoners. Later we did sightseeing Auschwitz II-Birkenau which was the biggest camps of work and extermination during the Second World War, Over a hundred thousand innocent convicts were detained here in 1944. After about two hours of sightseeing the organisers of tours took us to Wieliczka Salt Mine, which seemed to be no less splendid than the Egyptian pyramids. The Wieliczka Mine reaches a depth of 327 meters and is over 300 km long. It features a 3.5-km sightseeing route for visitors. Auschwitz Salt Mine Tours includes historic statues. The oldest sculptures were carved out of rock salt by miners; more fresh figures have been fashioned shaped formed by present artists.I must admit that the organizers of tours were equal to the task, two tours in one, it’s really possible.
