351. What's Wrong with the Catholic Church?
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013.
At the time of this writing, the Catholic Church is without a Pope. Probably they’ll select their new Pope within a few weeks.
I am not, however, expecting that the new Pope will be asking for my advice. I am nobody in the Catholic Church, and have no desire to be a somebody with them. I’ve always been a Protestant.
Do you see the word “protest” in the word “Protestant?” Probably about the first Protestant was Martin Luther.
Luther had been a Catholic priest himself, who studied the Bible, as priests ought to do, and everyone else... (read more)

352. A Two State Solution for Palestine?
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2011.
Recently at the United Nations, there was a vote about Palestine. The vote was somewhat favorable toward Palestine, while falling short of statehood for Palestine.
There are those who advocate a "two state solution" to the Middle East problems. From what I've read, it seems former President, Jimmy Carter, is one of those.
This is rather surprising, since it was my understanding that Carter was a Christian. He may actually be a Christian, but perhaps he has allowed his experience as President to color his views about Israel. (“Don’t lea... (read more)

353. Searching for the Real Christianity
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.
I became a Christian at the early age of about 4 years old. It was good that my mother had found a church that taught right doctrine.
When I was about 16, approximately half a century ago, I remember sitting in church and thinking, "These people are nice people, but it seems like there ought to be more to Christianity than I have found thus far."
I was right about that. There was more. Lots more.
In Mark 16:17,18, Jesus said, "These signs shall follow those who believe, in my name, they'll cast out devils, they'll speak with new to... (read more)

354. According to Your Faith
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013, all rights reserved.
From the King James Version, in Matthew 9:29, Jesus said, "According to your faith be it unto you."
In other words, you get what you're believing for.
In that chapter there, it happened to be two blind men who wanted their eyesight.
Jesus asked them if they believed he could heal them. They said yes. "Then he touched their eyes, saying, Have what you're believing for." (Holy Bible, Hoehn Version)
And the blind men became seeing men.
In Hebrews 11:6 it says, "But without faith it is impossible t... (read more)

355. The Most Difficult Task
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013, all rights reserved.
Some people have difficult things to do. Digging ditches with a shovel is quite laborious. I've done a little of it.
They do it differently now, but when riveters were riveting steel ships together, that was very hard work, and rather dangerous handling those very hot rivets.
Being a cook is not thought of as hard manual labor, but they often work in hot kitchens.
It can be very hard to breathe if you're climbing Mt. Everest.

356. Most Prolific Author
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013.
Do you remember Stephen from the book of Acts?
He was one of the seven chosen to oversee the serving of the tables so that the Apostles wouldn't be burdened with it. (Acts chapter 6)
But God blessed and used Stephen.
Acts chapter six, verses 8 And Stephen, full of faith and power, did great wonders and miracles among the people. 9 Then certain of the synagogue that is called the synagogue of the Libertines arose, and Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and of those of Cilicia and of Asia, disputing with Stephen. 10 And they were not ab... 357. Good News for Jews
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn
Dear Rabbi:
I have very good news. The Messiah waited for by the Jews has come. His name is Jesus.
He was born of a virgin (Mary). Descended from David by genealogy. Was a Nazarene from Nazareth. Spent some time in Egypt ("Out of Egypt have I called my son"). Born in Bethlehem.
He was preceded by John the Baptist, son of Zachariah and Elizabeth, who walked in the spirit and power of Elijah. John said of Jesus, "After me comes he that is mightier than me, whose shoe latchet I am unworthy to unloose."
The words of Jesus are found in the books ... (read more)

358. Curing Homosexuals by Counseling?
November 14, 2013
By Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2011.
Dear Michelle Bachman: 07/14/11
I believe it was radio talk show host Todd Schnitt who said something about your husband's psychiatry practice, or maybe it's psychology. Schnitt mentioned your husband trying to convert homosexuals to following Jesus and quitting homosexuality.
It would be very good if your husband can convert homosexuals, and if he's successfully doing that, then he is no doubt casting out demons, as per Mark chapter 16.
If your husband is casting out demons, that's great. We need much more of C... (read more)

359. The Christian Experience/How the Church has Fallen Short
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012
Author's note: As a Christian since a small boy, and now a senior, I've seen good and bad occurrences in Christianity, but Christians have a bright future if they'll "Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling." (Philippians 2:12) May we all strive to please the Lord. F.H.
Some have called the United States a "Christian Nation." This is not exactly correct. America does have many Christians, but we also have people of other religions, and we have freedom of religion. We can't be forced to be any certain religion.
There are ... (read more)

360. About Churches
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.
Dear Mr. K:
You asked me about a good church to go to.
I've been praying about what church to go to for years, and I still don't know a really good one. I have church with people on a one-to-one basis when two or a few Christians meet, for it is written, "Wherever two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there among them," says Jesus.
But in the package of things I handed you yesterday, there was a piece of paper listing a few churches. Some of them I got by going to www.Rhema.org. There's a place on that website about "... (read more)

361. Jesus Only?
November 14, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.
There are individuals, and churches, and at least one denomination that have been deceived about the Godhead. I'm referring to "Jesus Only" people who think that God the Father, and the Holy Ghost (or, Holy Spirit, or Comforter) are just different forms of Jesus. In other words, they think that all of God is Jesus.
Wrong. God the Father existed before Jesus did, as we can see from John 3:16, where Jesus is called the only begotten Son of God. Thus Jesus had a beginning, and God the Father pre-existed Jesus.
That should be enough right... (read more)

362. Win Worley, Pioneer in Exorcism
November 13, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.
Win Worley was pastor of the Hegewisch Baptist Church in Highland, IN. (near Hammond, IN) But I think he was from Texas. Perhaps near Mesquite, TX.
He and his wife prayed and asked the Lord to just use them however He chose. The Lord led them into a deliverance ministry, that is, the casting out of demons (exorcism).
I’m aware there was a movie about exorcism, or perhaps several. But I deliberately stay away from commercial movies on the subject because I’m sure they’re not made with diligence regarding correct theology, but rather, scr... (read more)

363. A Collection of Promises from God for His People from the Bible
November 13, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012
Author's Note: I wish I'd known about all of these principles since childhood. But it took time to get exposed to some of the good teachers the Lord has helped me to find. So I say, "Thank you, Father that I have now learned these principles." F.H.,
The promises are grouped into several different areas, healing & health, leading & guidance, overcoming, prayer, prosperity, safe/secure, worship.
It will do you good just to read the promises. But I would suggest, read them out loud, if you can, because, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing ... (read more)

364. Your Abundant Success Lasting Forever
November 13, 2013
by Fred Hoehn, copyright 2011.
Along the road of life, I've learned some valuable lessons. It would be wrong of me not to share them with people. Thus, this book.
But then, too, I'm a priest, so I really have no choice but to teach people. No choice, that is, if I want to wind up in heaven, and, of course, I do want that.
Only a fool would choose to go to hell instead of heaven. More often, people go to hell because they neglected to make the arrangements to go to heaven, and everyone goes either to heaven or hell, according to the teachings of The Lord Jesus Christ, and I... (read more)

365. Bill Nye, Science Guy
November 13, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.

Evidently, Mr. Nye is an Evolutionist. Well, this is the United States, and we have freedom of religion. But those who choose the Theory of Evolution have chosen a false religion.

366. Balanced Budget Amendment
November 13, 2013

I'm a patriotic American, and have served on active duty in our armed forces, and honorably discharged. There are things wrong with our nation, but that's no reason to turn against it. Where is a nation any better than ours?
Balanced Budget Amendment. Has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? A Senator was talking in favor of that on one of the talk shows. Talk show host Mark Levin said he’s in favor of it.
And what would be the purpose of a Balanced Budget Amendment? Well, obviously, to give our nation budgets that are always balanced. Wh... (read more)

367. Letter to Glenn Beck
November 13, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2011.
05/26/11
Dear Glenn: I was listening to your program this morning, and you spoke of "The Righteousness of the Nations." Nice phrase, Glenn. Almost sounds like it might be right out of the Bible.
Righteousness is a good aspiration for anyone to have. And God wanted ancient Israel to have it.
You are probably a religious man, or you wouldn't be so much in favor of righteousness. But Glenn, you don't get people to join you in fervor for righteousness, unless they have a foundation for righteousness.

368. Arab Spring
November 13, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.
In the Oct. 2012 issue of the Levitt Letter, author Ido Aharoni* writes about the “Arab Spring.” At the end of the article, he hopes for “democracy and prosperity for Muslims, Jews, and Christians alike.”
But prosperity is not appropriate for Muslims because they have chosen to be followers of the false religion Islam. They say that Allah is God, but their Allah does not have a son Jesus. The real God has a son who is The Lord Jesus Christ.
Muslims say that Jesus was a good man, and a prophet, but not the Son of God. In saying that, they c... (read more)

369. U.S. Ambassador Murdered in Libya
November 13, 2013
U.S. Ambassador Murdered in Libya
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.
Currently, an important news story is the murdering of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya. He was murdered with three other Americans in Libya.
Are we now reaping the benefits of the "Arab Spring?" It's rather looking like the Arab Spring was not such a wonderful thing.
How is Libya a better place now than it was under Khadafy? There are those who said change was needed. But not all change is for the better. Sometimes change is for the worse, as when we got the changes that came by electing Barak Obama. ... (read more)

370. Double Mastectomy, The Right Choice?
November 13, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013.
It's been in the news lately about a famous actress who has recently had a double mastectomy.
She was reportedly concerned that she might come down with cancer because she was told her genes put her at high risk for cancer.
She is married to a famous actor.
She's been on TV after the operation, and in her dress, it's hard to tell that she's had the operation.
So, the matter has ended well, right? Actually, the matter hasn't necessarily ended yet. There is the possibility of further developments in this matter.

371. Epilepsy Solved
November 13, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013.
Dear Rhonda:
A cure has been found for epilepsy.
The cause of epilepsy is fallen angels, demons that get into people. The demons can be cast out of the epileptic by a Christian. Non-Christians ought not to try casting out demons, and could get seriously injured by such an ill-advised attempt.
When Satan rebelled against God, some of the angels followed him. These are the fallen angels, the demons (or, devils). Howard Pittman, preacher from Foxworth, MS, has revealed that demons are specialists, not general practitioners that is, t... (read more)

372. Regarding Some False Preachers
November 13, 2013
Dave:
It is a very serious mistake to oversimplify by saying, "Religion is just about money." Your enemy, Satan, and his demons want you to believe that lie. If they can get you to hold on to that lie, they'll likely get you to hell for eternity.
It is true that televangelists, and radio preachers, and pastors of churches usually provide opportunity for people to donate, but YOU DON'T HAVE TO GIVE.
The fact they would like your financial support doesn't necessarily mean that what they're preaching is lies, however I believe there are some false men of God preaching.

373. Solving Financial Problems
November 13, 2013

Kenneth E. Hagin was having financial problems, so he prayed for three days about it. On the third day, the Lord answered him, and showed him how he wasn't entirely willing, and how he needed to use his faith for finances, and gave him a three-step plan. This is all in one of his mini-books titled, "How God Taught Me About Prosperity," by Kenneth E. Hagin.

374. Wars and Rumors of Wars
November 13, 2013

There might be some so-called scientists who scoff at the notion of the end of the world. But I have a better source of information than people like that.
That source of information is the most important book in the world, the Bible.
In the end times, and as the end of the world approaches, there will be wars and rumors of wars, and earthquakes, famines, and pestilences. Earthquakes can set off volcanoes. I’ve heard lately about volcanoes, haven’t you?

375. Yemeni Terrorist
November 13, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012. Many months ago, an airline passenger from Yemen was apprehended and arrested after trying to get into the cockpit of an airline flight in the U.S. He was said to say, "God is Great," in Arabic as he attempted to get into the cockpit.
The judge held him without bail, though the man's attorney argued he was no risk to the public. No risk to the public? Muslim terrorists are always a risk to the public, as we learned on 9/11/01.
