This question is a great place to start. I am sure that a lot of us already have a pretty good idea why we want to become magicians. It is the reason that we are getting at, you must have a reason and believe that reason in your heart to be successful. Take another look at why you want to be a magician. Perhaps you got into magic to pick up girls or to entertain or to stay in five star hotels or to make people happy. The reasons are all going to be very different and these questions and answers will help us to become better magicians and have better acts, acts more suited to us and our unique experiences. It helps us to ask ourselves questions like, What type of magician do I want to be? Do I like comedy? Is my humor dry? Do I like to perform for children or adults? We don't want to sound cruel here or steal your dream but what if you became a magician for the wrong reasons. As with any business, there are people involved in the field of Magic that would be better suited to another career. Magic is not for everybody. That being said, asking the important question, Why do I want to be a magician helps us get a better grip on the dream and prevents us from saying "I should have went to medical school" later in life. Okay, we know that you want to be a magician and we never really questioned it. However, it is important for you to revisit the dream, that is, experience all the reasons that you wanted to become a magician in the first place. For example, a man who is a loving father might want to be a magician because he enjoys children, wants to impress his own children and their friends, their parents and enjoys the ability to be a bit 'out of the box.' These are all valid reasons and he will have much success on his life path. The reasons for doing anything are as wide and diverse as the people on planet Earth. That is what is so awesome about our business. We have close up magicians, stage magicians, parlor magicians, tv magicians, Las Vegas magicians, nightclub magicians, birthday magicians, school show magicians, educational magicians, very good magicians, not so good magicians, jealous magicians and the list goes on forever. Yes, it is great to be a magician! Okay, those last three were to make you laugh, this is a fun business...but keep in mind, it is a business and it deserves to be ran like a business if you so choose to make your living from the art of magic. Wedding magicians are another type also that are very very much in demand too. Again, you might just want to do magic as a hobby and that is also just fine. We are not really questioning your reasons and there is no right or wrong answer to these questions. It's all about having the dream and taking action on that dream to achieve your goals. A wise man said never compromise a dream.
