101. My Latest Obsession October 13, 2020 One of my friends recently introduced me to the world of custom keyboards. I briefly heard about it once before, but didn’t really bother with it. But when I took some time exploring it, I started to realize why people are obsessed with it and why the custom keyboard community is growing so big. 102. Setting the green grinch authors' senses straight October 12, 2020 I was curious one day and did some pleasure research about the publishing industry. One of the more topics that I read about is how a book becomes a bestseller, specifically the New York Times Bestseller, which is the most prestigious bestseller title out of the rest. 103. My Favorite Conspiracy Theories October 09, 2020 Back when I was a little kid, I always found it entertaining to listen to crazy conspiracy theories. One of the most memorable ones I learned was the hidden 9/11 pictures that appear when you fold the US 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 dollar bills a certain way. 104. A World Where Social Media Becomes a Part of Real Life October 08, 2020 It’s been a long while since I watched this one particular show. Black Mirror If you’ve never heard of it, it’s a science fiction show where it shows the dark sides of new technology. Most of the episodes are dark, depressing, sometimes graphic. Rarely do they have light-hearted episodes. But what impresses me the most about this show is the unexpected plot twists. But I’m not going to talk about that. 105. Skydiver Recording His Potential Death? October 07, 2020 The Internet has boggled my mind once again. A new friend of mine found an interesting video while she was browsing through social media and forwarded it to me. The video was a skydiver who was recording himself falling from the sky and his parachute not opening. The video ended after he gave the parachute the finger. It was a newsletter from an e-commerce company I started following long ago, mainly because I know the owner. When I opened it, I can confidently say that this is one of those blatant sales pitch emails. It has the typical phrases you see in those kinds of emails. 110. George Foreman's Secret to Channeling Demand By Will September 21, 2020 Over the weekend, I decided to go back in time and watch some old, short infomercials for fun. I especially revisited the ones I remembered watching in the past. Some of them include: Billy Mays on Oxiclean Vince Shlomi on Shamwow The press2paste commercial But the most interesting one I came across was the 1996 George Foreman's Lean Mean Fat Reducing Grilling Machine Infomercial. 111. My Biking Skill Level: 4/10 September 20, 2020 It has been over 10 years since I put my hands on a bike. Part of the reason why is that I live in New York City. Their public transportation makes it possible for me to go anywhere without a bike nor a car. The other part is that I always preferred either using a scooter or walking with my two feet. 113. This is How You Don't Wiggle Your Way Out of a Speeding Ticket September 15, 2020 Once in a while, I like to go to an entertaining website called fmylife.com. It’s where people can anonymously submit short stories of unfortunate events that happened in their lives. Some more disastrous than others. 114. A Clever Blackhat Resume Tactic September 14, 2020 Apparently, there’s a new way employers review resumes of new candidates that I was never aware of until now. What they do is they feed the resumes through a scanner to look for certain keywords. If they’re there, then the candidates will be granted an interview. I never liked the idea of a machine taking over a human job. It’s not called “Human” Resources for no reason. 115. Education and Pirated DVDs September 11, 2020 I recently finished reading a book called, How to Get Filthy Rich in Rising Asia by Mohsin Hamid. It’s about the journey of a boy, named “the protagonist” or “you,” from his childhood to his deathbed. He was raised in a village by his mother and father, both of whom died relatively early on in his life. This caused him to pursue entrepreneurship and built his own successful bottled water business. Every Introvert's Wet Dream Job August 28, 2020 I was recently in a recording session for another podcast interview and the host asked me an interesting question, “Do you think email is great for introverts? If you attend a four year college or university and the campus gets destroyed, you automatically earn your bachelor’s degree. “What a great life hack,” I initially thought.
