451. Want to be politically correct, how about - ‘The Washington Snakeskins?
October 28, 2013
Halloween, noted for its Gaelic and Welch influences is essentially a Christianized pagan observance that is based on remembering the dead. It has no purpose in the Christian faith and is generally thought to be wrong because it honors witches, goblins and ghosts. It is indirectly honoring the dead and the spirits of demons and devils, even in the seemingly innocuous practice of trick or treating and costume parties.
We will not waste a moment of anyone’s time trying to defend this celebration, but it is impossible to miss the absurdity of those with a fully liberal mindset concerning the... (read more)

454. God's Chosen People
October 27, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2013.
A lot of people are already familiar with the expression, “God’s Chosen People.” God made a covenant with Abraham, apparently the first Hebrew. God chose the Jews.
But the Jews have had a very rocky history. Consider the holocaust. That person, Achmadinijad of Iran said that the holocaust didn’t happen. He is very much mistaken. I’ve seen piles of dead Jews stacked up on the ground. It appeared to be hundreds of dead bodies.
Was I there in Germany? No. I saw newsreels on TV, not current with when they were filmed, but shown years la... (read more)

455. Cold War and U.S. Intelligence
October 27, 2013
Power of Suggestion:
The human mind is a delicate instrument, and perception is its key to understanding. Alter a man's perception, and you've changed the man. During the Cold War that is exactly what the CIA attempted to do with the European countries populations, by inundating them with capitalistic, democratic propaganda. This was to combat the growing sentiments toward communism and it worked.
How we fought the Cold War:
When an American thinks of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) from an academic standpoint Cold War images may come to mind, and the importance of such an agency... (read more)

456. Why the U.S. Should Immediately Leave Afghanistan
October 26, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.
August, 2012
It was reported on Fox News that recent murders by Afghans of Americans in Afghanistan bring the total to forty murders of Americans by Afghans in uniform just this year alone.
These are not battle casualties. If two armies war, some casualties are to be expected. No, these were killings by murderers we were trying to train, so they would be able to take over the defense of their nation.
And that excuse has been used about the American presence in several Arab/Muslim nations. The authorities explain that we are trainin... (read more)

457. The Cure For Cigarette Addiction
October 26, 2013
The Cure for Cigarette Addiction
by Frederick Hoehn, copyright 2012.
Cigarette addiction has long been known to be a difficult problem to solve. People approach the problem from a biological point of view, or biochemistry, or psychological. The problem, however, does not require a college degree to solve.
Addictions such as to tobacco, or to illegal drugs, or to alcohol, or to gambling, or to pornography, or to sex perversion occur when, by engaging in such behavior, a very undesirable change occurs in the person doing so.
Unfortunately, some do not believe in God. ... (read more)

Scheme administrators struggling to locate 400,000 policyholders who could benefit The Treasury has today announced that the Equitable Life Payment Scheme (ELPS), which had been due to close in April 2014, has been extended until the middle of 2015. The scheme was established to compensate victims of the Equitable Life near-collapse, who had pensions or investments with the firm, and which they took out after 1 September 1992. The reason for the extension is the difficulty in contacting a significant number of those entitled to compensation. Although the government agreed as far back... (read more)

October 25, 2013
During the hot summer months after a hard day at work, the last thing you want to do is spend time in the kitchen cooking a full meal. October 25, 2013
In California, and many other states across the nation, nearly anyone can become a private caregiver. Napa County is doing its best to ensure that criminals are not able to become caregivers. Napa is the only California county to require home care providers to apply for and carry a Caregiver Permit. Napa elder abuse attorneys say that the program should be expanded to help protect senior citizens from caregiver fraud.

October 24, 2013
by Frederick Hoehn Copyright 2013
It was in the news today about "The Christening of a Future King," meaning the newborn son of the royal Prince, son of the passed-on Princess Diana in England.
It was reported that the infant was baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury with water from the Jordan River.
No doubt that so-called baptism was by sprinkling, since baptism by immersion would have tended to be somewhat traumatic for the infant, and a small bottle of water from the Jordan would not have been enough for a baptism by immersion.
Now who else baptizes infants by... (read more)

As a Christian, it is my duty to teach others what I know, as I find opportunity to do so. Jesus wants me to teach and preach, so I will.
