The changing trends in higher education in India are defined by its online education system. In the olden time the basic requirements for mankind were shelter, food & clothing. But after the industrial revolution education has also become imperative for survival. The major reason behind changing trends in the Indian education sector is the “cost of education.” Cost of online education is comparatively quite cheap & highly affordable while cost of regular education is constantly rising. The one and only requirement of online education is a computer system and internet facilities. Online education is completely changing the methods of imparting education by providing practical orientation and making education a great fun. Online education is a stronger mode of education as it facilitates global exposure to students. Facilitating the digitization of Indian education sector Hughes Communications India Ltd or commonly known as HCIL which is a global player in the broad-band satellite services & networks in India has announced that in collaboration with the government of Punjab in India it would operate & supply a comprehensive, network based on satellite to impart quality education in educational institutions throughout Punjab state. HCIL is using INSAT-4CR satellite for the same. It is the country’s largest satellite-based education network till date. It will connect approximately 2960 schools in Punjab with educational lectures & content either through live-telecasts from studious (situated over Mohali) or pre-recorded. In Haryana, CORE Education & Technologies (global-education Company of India) with presence in forty countries is also setting up a big budget Information & Communication Technology or ICT-project with the goal of benefiting millions of scholars over thousands of schools. CORE is also setting up similar projects in India in the states of Punjab, Meghalaya, Gujarat, Nagaland & Maharashtra.
